Albany @ RMU- I dont want to pick this game...cause frankly, other than the trip to Moon, which sucks, I think this is the biggest pick 'em out there. So I went with the homer pick.

Bryant @ Monmouth
Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart
SFPA vs. Wagner

Albany @ RMU - I just have a gut feeling about this one. I think RMU has shown they are a good team, but 4 out of their 5 wins have come against teams with a combined record of 6-15. They have a good win against Liberty, but it may be that Liberty was looking ahead to JMU the following week. BUT IF RMU wins this game I will feel confident saying they are on the way to the playoffs and their CCSU matchup in two weeks will decide that.

Bryant @ Monmouth - I don't want to pick against Bryant, but I feel like Monmouth is a bigger team and Bryant has shown that they are having a tough time traveling this year. The young players seemed to struggle with short trips to Wagner and CCSU. I would not be surprised if Bryant won, but I think Monmouth has the upper and add in the fact that coach Fine has said the team is struggling on the turf this year---especially against quicker teams. Side note: I am excited to say this is Bryant's first televised game and it will be fun to watch a game from the comfort of the coach and not in the stands or on the computer screen.

Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart - has had a tough two weeks, blown out by Monmouth and then losing a close one vs. Central Connecticut after making a 4th quarter comeback. I think Duquesne wins this one easily though and improves to 2-2 in conference play and gets back over .500.

SFPA vs. Wagner - Wagner seems to be clicking on most cylinders now, even though Doscher had 4 INT's last week he has still been a star for Wagner and a top performer in the NEC. I think Wagner wins this one close.

Albany @ RMU - I have no clue. I'm picking Bobby Mo because they are at home. That is how close I think this game will be.

Bryant @ Monmouth - I had higher expectations for Bryant before the season, but after the shellacking that Monmouth laid on the Dukes I feel that Bryant will continue to underwhelm this season.

Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart - I will lay this out here right now... At this time, I fully expect to be choosing Duquesne in every remaining game this season. This week, Sacred Heart will bear the brunt of the Dukes' frustrations from the past two weeks.

SFPA vs. Wagner - This one may be close, but Wagner has the fire power to put up the W over the Red Flash.

Albany @ RMU - This is going to be a great game pitting 2 great caoches against each other - Ford vs. Walton. I'm just not sold on Albany's offense yet, and it's a long bus ride out to Western PA. Take the Colonials at home in a hard fought battle.

Bryant @ Monmouth - Hawks are getting better as the weeks progress. The offense may finally be finding themselves and Brayant is struggling on the road.

*Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart - Pioneers are better than their record and the kicking game is hurting them. The Dukes are very good, but [...] This is going to be a close one, [...] (I still think SHU is a good team, but I gotta take the Dukes here.)

SFPA vs. Wagner - The Flash were out manned at ALbany and although they have fight and determination, Wagner is the better team. As long as the Seahawks don't make too many mistakes, they should come home with a win.

*For the 2nd week in a row, I mistakenly had SHU as the home team. Oops

Albany @ RMU -But only because they're the home team
Bryant @ Monmouth - Monmouth. :ohno:
Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart - Duquesne could beat SH in their SLEEP
SFPA vs. Wagner - Jesus...what a "dog" game...

The Dukes are very good, but they have to make the trip back to CT after last week's heartbreaking loss to Central. This is going to be a close one, and I'm think the home turf and a few good bounces help SHU get a conference win.
:coffee:

This game is on The Bluff in Pittsburgh.

Albany @ RMU: Albany has it going again with a lop sided 48-0 win last week versus St. Francis (Pa) last week and while their last trip to Pa. resulted in a loss to Duquesne I think a mild upset is likely. RMU is 2-0 at home but needed a blocked 28 yd. FG late in the fourth quarter to hold on to win 17-16 vs. Monmouth last week. The NEC really gets interesting if the Danes can pull this one off. Albany 20-17

Bryant @ Monmouth: Since Bryant's opener with Fordham, they have looked less impressive. With a few breaks Monmouth could easily be over .500 at this point and might be the best (1-4) team in the FCS. Monmouth 28-13

Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart: Aside from the blowout loss to St. Francis (Pa), SHU has played competative football. Duquesne went 1-2 the past three weeks against Albany (W), Monmouth (L) and a close loss vs. CCSU. They get a little break in their schedule this week and should win at home. Duquesne 27-20

Wagner @ St. Francis (Pa): Despite losing the turnover battle 4-3 (including 4 Int's), Wagner pulled off a thrilling 22-16 (OT) win at Georgetown last week highlighted by a last second 54 yard FG to tie in regulation. It took 3 OT's last year for Wagner to beat the Red Flash 56-48 in Staten Island. Wagner 34-24

RMU Homecoming, 80 plus former players are slated to arrive on campus. RMU is honoring the 2000 10-0 Colonial team. Many of those former players will be roaming the sidelines watching these Colonials up close.
To beat Albany, RMU is going to have play at the same level they did against Liberty. I do believe the Monmouth game was a HUGE wake up call for the coaches and players. You can't walk onto the field within the NEC and hope a team's record reflects their ability.
But back to this game. Albany has the best rush D in the NEC while RMU is #2. Can Myles Russ and the OL control this game and put it away in the 4th quarter? I believe they can....

RMU 27-23

Bryant @ Monmouth
Sorry Bryant but its another Road Game and you are facing one of the best 1-4 teams in the FCS. Monmouth takes it out on Bryant on Saturday.

Monmouth 31-17

Duquesne vs. Sacred Heart
I don't think Sacred Heart is as bad as their record. Outside of the 41-0 beat down from SFPA (WTF), Sacred Heart has been in all their games.
The Dukes are on the cusp of becoming a real player within the NEC. This will be a high scoring match up with both teams putting the ball in the air a lot. But it will be McCoy's legs that will control the clock in the 4th and secure the victory for the Dukes

Dukes 35-31

SFPA vs. Wagner
For some reason I looked at this game and was thinking that perhaps...just perhaps at home SFPA has a chance. Wagner will start slow again...and it will take a big turnover and late 4th quarter drive for Wagner to escape with the W.

Wagner 21-20

yup - we suck

The good thing is our Frosh QB got some good PT and hopefully he'll stay in there the rest of this season.

Our starter went 4-17 for 12 yards. He shouldn't see the field again.

Oh and BTW - RMU is a Top 25, IMO. The RB is a legit player.

WOW...What a game put on by the Colonials. The biggest thing I noticed was how the OL for the Colonials was able to give Russ a ton of room to run. Russ is a great back and its been fun the last 4 years was him grow into one of the best RB ever to play at Robert Morris.
The D had a great game plan and today the Colonials hit Albany right in the mouth.
This is a much needed 'bye' week for the Colonials so they can rest and then get ready for CCSU/Dukes/Bryant.

And you are right danefan...RMU would be ranked in the upcoming polls.

RMU absolutely BITCH SLAPPED UA across the field, so bad that for the first time ever...I stopped paying attention before the end of the first half.

Congrats to RMU!

BTW, I echo Danefan's thoughts on our team.

RMU has been, and will continue to rise, in my poll. Had them at 24 last week...but with other games from this week, they will move up. B-Cook will also move in.
