Pretty good, except YSU still gets the shaft and Elon is still ranked.

Yeah but I just chose the team ranked higher in either poll to fill the 25 slot since there was not a match and I would have had to use "26" for both and then divide by 2 so I just stuck Elon in. I just wanted to give it a test and see how it looked and didn't put a lot of work into it.

Because I'm an idiot and didn't realize they lost this weekend.

And that's why I didn't vote again. Not enough time to follow everyone.

I wonder how they did sneak in the CS.com poll?

Much like SFA getting early recognition for doing some good work last year YSU has done this year. They were #14 in our poll last week after beating SIU. They are still 3-2 with an all D1 schedule so I can see why they are in there on our poll.

AAAAHHHHHH I CAN"T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!!!

Teams tired of their conferences wanting to move elsewhere.
Conferences booting teams out that don't measure up to their standards.
This team going here, that team going there...oh wait, no they are staying but this team goes (I think)
This poll sucks, this poll blows, this poll is the best
Let's throw everything into a big pot of stew and see---hey, where's Western Kentucky?
I don't like this, I don't like that.
People sleeping with other people's wives (and hating it).
People sleeping with other people's husbands (and enjoying it)
Obama's gone, Bush is back.

I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!!! I AM GOING HOME!!!!!
THEY'RE COMING TO TAKE ME AWAY, HA HA!!!!!

(okay I feel better now)
:D

Which baffles me as well. They haven't beaten anyone this year. If you think SIU is just a slow starter, that is one thing but as of now they aren't a good football team. Butler? CCSU?

If you go based off last year, well, they finished tied with MSU at 5th and yet MSU has beaten them this year.

No worries, things will straighten themselves out as the season progresses. Just felt the need to stand up for my team :thumb:

It shouldn't be all that baffling. The CS poll doesn't start until after the week 3 games were played. At that point we were able to go off of something and not use our preconcieved notions from last year as much as we would have had to rely on them starting at the beginning of the season. That said you can look around and see who is doing well at that point and since mostly OOC play most teams had not played an real equitable games so you look at it and choose the teams you think are looking good SO FAR.

As you said, once a few more games get played against the conference you can adjust and move any teams with a tenuous resume out if they don't perform.

So if it is based off this year because the votes don't start until Week 3 then where is the love for YSU coming from? From beating an 1-3 SIU team at the time? That earns them the #14 spot in the country? Why not anything for MSU since they just beat them handily? Does the one more win that YSU has make that much of a difference?

I don't mean to be a dick, I am just curious to gain some knowledge on how others think. I hear it that polls are based on what is being done and then they go and show something completely different.

I explained that as well as I think I can as far as what MY thinking is each week. At that point (3rd week) YSU didn't have any FCS losses, they had a BCS loss. There were not a lot of teams out there to choose from so they were TENUOUSLY at 14. That means people didn't have a lot of faith that they were 14, but couldn't make a case in their own mind for someone else at that point. Once they drop one to you guys the tenuous nature of their ranking becomes apparent because they plummet quickly.

Beating YSU this last weekend is the first chance that you would have to be recognized. What could have made you look like a top 25 team before this past Saturday? You have a win over what appears to be a bad EK and two losses in a row with no prior recognition of being a team that can lay some losses on people in the national mindset (ie UNI, or SIU).

You'd get a result worse than whichever of the two you think is better; adding in a computer ranking, you'd get a junior version of AGS's sainted GPI. :tothehand:
