    Most Surprising Result: Sacramento St. 61, (#10) Montana St. 64 (OT) - After not scoring 50+ points in a game since 2003, the Hornets score 51 points in the second half against the Bobcats… and still lose.

    Worst Performance: Bucknell 12, Cornell 21 - The Patriot vs. Ivy basement battle doesn't go the right way for the Bison.

    Most Surprising Result: Georgetown 3, Colgate 34 - After a relatively hot start, the Hoyas revert to their old ways. Will they fold, or can they rebound & prove they've turned a corner?

Venus (following SH) - PSU , I have to point out, was picked 8th pre-season because no one knew anything about Burton and the team, and they assumed it would continue its losing ways. A pretty stupid assumption. After Davis and ISU I think we can assume it's at least average.

Average probably means 7th. or 8th. in the Big Sky this year. The league is pretty deep.

    Most Surprising Result: Rhode Island 27, Brown 24 (OT) - The series is still lopsided in Brown's favor, but the Rams have now won 7 of the last 10.

    Most Surprising Result: (#18) Furman 17, Wofford 38 - After giving up 400 rushing yards to Wofford, the Paladins are now third-worst in the nation in run defense.

Good to see Eric Breitenstein and WC stepping up.

For those outside the loop, Breitenstein got away from Appalachian (he is a Watauga County 'local') when he signed with the Ankle Biters --- fine young man and excellent student-athlete.

It's funny/sad to see Bethune-Cookman put up big points with Southern's former OC, while the Jags struggle to score.
