43 receptions 561 yds 8 tds through 5 games
He should be in discussion for the Payton Award before the season is over if he keeps up this pace.

And whatever team(s) him and Mike Brown play for I'll instantly become a fan of. (I really don't follow the NFL at all, I'm all about College football)

Not everyone has played 5 games yet and some teams use multiple receivers, thus cutting down on any one receiver having the op to make that many catches. Plus, there are a lot of guys on that list with ypc that are higher
Nice set of stats though

We need to stop limiting the amount of times we throw to Summers. If it's in arms reach, he's coming down with the ball. Just the way it is.

I wouldn't limit the throws, that's absurd. Let him run loose. But, you can't not throw to the other wide-outs or he will get covered too much. That way the opposing D can never tell, for sure, if it is going to be his ball or not.

Bad passes and broken up passes not taken into account, but I just figured out all this info, I don't know if it's actually posted somewhere else or not.
St Francis 7 for 10 70%
at Ball St 11 for 16 68%
at RMU 9 for 16 (what happened there?) 56%
at JMU 8 for 10 80%
Savannah St 8 for 9 88%

At RMU we saw what can happen if you try to focus on him too much. Mike had to throw some out of bounds since he was well covered.

Me and the guy sitting beside me at the UD game were talking about how he crushed us. He LOOKS like an NFL receiver.

We use multiple receivers. We've had 3 other receivers break the 100yd mark in a game this season. One of the main reasons his ypc are not as high as others is we throw alot of 4-5 yard quick outs or curls to him. Where if he doesn't break that first tackle he only gets 4-5 yards on that catch.
We don't throw the ball his way nearly enough.

Yeah I was surprised you guys didn't start doubling him before the 3rd/4th quarter. We should have given him the ball every play until you guys could stop him. We should do that every week.

There were times we doubled him and popped him and he still held on. Only dropped that one near the end. And he got drilled on that one.

Glad Summers could help you break your 2 game losing streak by catching that 4th quarter TD pass with 10 minutes to go; to put you up 30+ points against 0-5 Savannah State ...

No doubt. He will certainly play on Sundays. The kid is a beast. I project him as a 5th-6th round pick at this point.
He is so big, strong, runs good routes, and uses his body very well.

He will break the LU record for receiving TD in a season (Eric Green - 10) this season. What has impressed me so much from when he first got here to now is how physical he has become and how he catches anything anywhere near him. His confidence right now is through the roof. He is a beast and will only get better.

And by the way, Chris now holds the record for LU Receiving TDs in a season at 12 with 4 games left. The previous record was 10 held by Eric Green. He will break most other records fairly quickly at this pace.

Here's another WR putting up great numbers:
UAPB's Raymond Webber, he leads the FCS is receptions and is third in yardage. Unfortunately his team isn't very good.
