Who wins this week's games?

As for the PSU game, I reckon ISU ranks alongside Davis. PSU has been brutalized by ASU and UO, but has had two weeks to think about it and recover. PSU by two TDs.

NAU over SUU - What happened to SUU?
UM over UNC - UM should win handily if they clean up the sloppiness.
PSU over ISU - Meh.
EWU over WSU - Toss up: if TJ is hurt and Higgins is average, WSU can win. If TJ is TJ, EWU wins.
Sac State over MSU - Desperation/homer pick. But I do think it will be a close one if the Hornet D steps up. Also MSU sounds like they will be missing some DL's which could be important as the Hornets are sure to run the ball...and then run the ball some more.

We dont know yet the status of TJ, Higgins is still having a good year. 1,100 passing, 8 TD passes and almost 11,000 career passing yards. BTW, WSU's backup QB would be a top 3 QB in the BSC this year. He takes over as a junior next yr - Mike Hoke. He's another QB from Hawaii like Cam Higgins and looks a lot like him on the field. He's #11. :thumb:

If they could have done that they'd be 4-0. :ohno: :ohno:

The same could be said for a lot of teams. Great teams play crisp football games. I hope no one is using that as a cop-out for your average start.

We're averaging about 5 turnovers a game. Nobody is using at as an excuse. They are saying that if we can clean that up it would make a difference. The fact that we've done it on Punt returns, or going in to score also compounds the problem because the punt return fumbles gave good field position to the opponent. IF we can fix that we are a better team, as of this point in the season we are not that better team.

It's not a cop out, it's a fact. 5 T/O's a game won't win you many games. :coffee:

I don't know if this is supposed to be the picks thread or not, but here they are anyway:

Idaho St. 14-30 Portland St.Likely the only game the Viks will be favored in all year.

Montana St. 24-13 Sac State — Hornets desperately need to find a passing game.

EWU 24-35 WeberA banged-up Taiwan Jones & a vulnerable EWU secondary make the difference here.

Montana 27-14 NoCo — Even if UM's turnover problems persist, the Bears don't have the kicking game to take advantage.

NAU 24-31 Southern UtahT-Birds finally get it done after 2 tragic losses to the 'Jacks.

Southern Utah will not beat Northern Arizona. NAU has the best defensive unit they've had in years and QB Michael Herrick is just starting to get going. If NAU receivers catch the ball (which has been an issue), the Jacks will pummel the Thunderbirds. I remember Thunderbird wine when I was younger; the winos always drank it with the bag on it. T-Bird fans should bring the bag this weekend

That's great news for UNC because we lead the conference in turnover ratio. We do create a lot of turnovers because of our physical play, HOWEVER, we've failed to capitalize on those turnovers and turn them into TD's. See Weber State game.

Well then by all accounts from what we've done so far we'll be giving you some extra chances.

Hell if we keep it down to 3 or 4 it'll be an improvement. I know UNC is closing the gap on the conference and the game should most definitely be a test with our O against your D.

As far as physical D units, we got that. They are quick, bruising mofo's but they can get themselves into situations where they can be exploited and since I've seen small time frames of UNC's O this year I don't we got coming at us.

We are better on offense and we can run the ball this year. Andre Harris is a very good running back and probably the second best in the conference. Dylan Orms can be an effective QB but he had a horrible game against Michigan State (surprise). Our defense is a bit better than last year too. However, you guys looked pretty good against Sac St and I'm not sure we have the horses to beat you guys this weekend, despite the fact you might not be as talented then years past.

This really is a new UNC this year. I think yall will have a year to be proud of.
