I had Elon in the bottom five of mine. Can't go solely on record. Elon has a FBS loss and lost to top 15 Richmond and #16 GSU. A lot of this is going to shake itself out. If Elon does not deserve to be ranked they won't be at the end of the year. These things should not even be done for the first five or six weeks. If this thing has not worked itself out by October 11th then I will really start to complain. It's still too early to know for sure if a 1-2 team should or should not be ranked. Still have not seen enough league games in my opinion.

And that's Richmond's ONLY win, and it took OT to do it--AT HOME. I watched the Elon/GSU game on reply. Elon got absolutely WORKED in that game. They have one win, over a Division II school. Neither should be ranked, in my opinion.

Northern Iowa is just about right. They beat a ranked FCS, barely lost to another and got beat, albeit bad, to an FBS that they statistically demolished.

I don't see why UNI being in the poll is an issue.

They beat a top 25 team, and lost to a top 10 team & an FBS team.

Montana has lost to two top 25 teams and beat an FCS team getting votes but no one thinks they shouldn't be in the poll.

UNI, SIU and Montana are going to be very good teams by season's end.

Agreed. I haven't saw SIU or Montana games, but I can only see them getting better.

SIU is missing some very key players at this point, and any team would struggle with their injury situation.

UNI needs to hold on to the ball and will be fine

Montana needs to get "comfortable" in their system

The problem with SIU is that the playoffs have started now for them. They have to win every single game from here on out.

That will either be really good or really really bad for them.

I did some looking, and the reason UNI has lost the two games they have is very fixable:
RED-ZONE SCORES (4-12) 33%
RED-ZONE TOUCHDOWNS (1-12) 8%
FUMBLES-LOST 8-7

Out of the red-zone trips and our fumbles, I think we have lost 6 in the red-zone. We hold on to the ball and wow.

Fact: We are entering week 5 of the season
Fact: UNI is a 1-win team.
Fact: UNI hasn't won a game since 9/11
Fact: UNI has lost two straight games
Fact: NDSU wasn't top 10 when they beat UNI
Fact: Montana's losses were on the road, UNI's only victory was at home
Fact: UNI lost to SFA at HOME
Fact: I had UNI at #26 in my poll this week

You stay classy, DJH. :coffee:

Would you quit crying if I promise to put UNI in my top 25 if they win next week? Probably not.

Teams should be ranked according to how they have performed SO FAR THIS YEAR and should have very little to do with what their injury situation is, how good they will be by the end of the year, how good they were last year, how many National Championships they've won, their reputation, how many players they send to the NFL, where their cheerleading squad ranks or how big their stadium is...it should be performance based on the results of this years games only. That's why the polls up until week 5 or 6 are rather lame at best and sometimes laughable at worst. :coffee:

Nice to have a playoff.......

UNI has played 1 less game than almost everybody else. Only a dumbass wouldn't take that into consideration when saying "they only have 1 win."

We would have 2 wins if we would have played an NAIA school like Montana did.

Montana has lost two games in a row as well.

Why does it matter if NDSU was top 15 when we beat them? Fact is, they are now, and we beat them pretty easily.

Really it should come down to this, what is more impressive, beating NDSU or barely beating Sac St?

Az: NDSU lost to UNI and they're in the top 25. Now and then. SFA is the top 10 team UNI lost to. Both teams Montana lost to have since lost and the only teams Montana has defeated include a team just outside the top 25 and a lower division team. Do a little more research before you post things that are blatantly obvious.

Case closed.

Go away.

You need to worry less about where UNI is relative to Montana in the poll and hope to fucking GOD that UNI starts winning some games.

I used YOUR research, Einstein. I never said NDSU wasn't in the top 25. I said they weren't top 10. Neither was SFA when they beat UNI.

:+1: I could not agree with you more sir. I watched the Elon-GSU game on TV, because I couldn't make it down to Statesboro, and it was awful. We gave up over 500 yards including 379 on the ground. We just looked bad.

Honest to God. DJH, you're like that little kid who just keeps stomping his feet until he gets what he wants. You act like I have Montana in the top 5. There are currently SIX spots separating Montana and UNI in my poll. Your team has lost two games in a row. When Montana was in that same position, they WERE NOT IN MY POLL. Christ, they had to WIN to get up to #20. And seriously, if you don't see that after #8-9 in the poll everything else is just a crapshoot then it's YOU who are an idiot, dumbass, retarded motherfucker.

I've never seen anyone who is so hung up on where his team is ranked. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:
