Overrated:
SIU (possibly eliminated from playoff contention before the halfway point? A loss at ISU(red) ends the Saluki's season)
Griz (Lost a couple tough road games and barely got by Sacred City, a loss at NoCo and Griz Nation will be in Civil War)
Richmond (Not convinced this team is going to be any good this year against the best of the best in the CAA)
Underrated:
Hens
Minutemen
Ga. Southern

Agreed about Richmond. They were on my short list...and they are NOT in my top 25.

I'd like to add to underrated:
TXST
and even I'm still not convinced we'll make the playoffs. I think I'm hopefully pessimistic this year. (is that logical at all?)
It's probably that I'm not settled with the 'regime' change, after Brad George, yet. In years past I have had that - we'll win this one feeling, but I'm gut wrenched every week this year (so far)

Probably a wee bit early for the **Overrated/Underrated** --- the next 2-3 weeks will give us a good look at who can bring it on a weekly (or weakly

) basis, and the cream will start to rise ...
Or the wheels will start coming off - LOL

I'll need to see what happens with Elon and Richmond in today's polls....perhaps by 1:00 they'll actually be in the right place.

If SIU is overrated, and they are, how does beating them make YSU underrated?

Most people I've read had YSU above NDSU and Illinois State in the pre-season.

Elon has done absolutely nothing this year to warrant why they should be ranked. 1-3 with the win against a D-2. There was a lot of excitement in the off-season, but so far just disappointment this season. Elon shouldn't be in any of the polls this week.

Precisely. Which is why they're not in my poll.

I agree. Plenty of time to see if Elon should be in the top 25, but the answer at this point should be no.

Over = Montana, Richmond, SDSU (great, two of the Hens opponents)
Under = Delaware, Jacksonville State, UMass

I had all 3 of your under-rated teams in my pre-season poll, along with your over-rated teams.

Agree with your accessment and would add Furman and possibly YSU as honorable mention to underrated.

At what spots? Someone going from 20 to Top 5 is a HUGE jump IMO... larger than maybe going from NR to #15.

Does a d2 win & 3 pt win over Sac State keep the griz in your top 25?

Yup.
Elon now becomes the most dangerous side in the SoCon - their playoffs begin with Samford this week.
And do yah think they would love to bloody the noses of Appalachian and FU along they way?

Overrated: Montana, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Eastern Illinois. Being on the ropes to even make the playoffs before October is not a good sign.
Underrated: Delaware and Jacksonville State (the surprise teams of the season IMO). Montana State looks solid. HM: Georgia Southern and UMass
As far as Richmond and Elon goes, I thought they were borderline Top 20 teams to begin the year. Elon lost a really good player in Hudgins and while they have Riddle back, you have to expect a dropoff when you lose your main weapon. Richmond lost a ton of starters including there coach, it could end up being a tough season for the Spiders but .500 is doable.

I can't really add anyone that hasn't already been said.
However, looking through polls right now I do have a couple teams I feel could be "overrated" based on OOC games, namely WIU. I have them at 17 or 18 in my poll, but I have a bad feeling about that right now because of what WIU has done the past couple years

When it's paired with close losses to two other top 15 teams, yes. But just barely.

But beating a top 20 team, losing to a top 5-10 team and a FBS team keeps others out of the ratings...

Your team has lost 2 in a row. It's week 4. Give it a rest.

Oh...
We have the same D1 record with a more "impressive" win. You're fucking crazy
