Me, the wife and my brother are looking at attending the ASU/Samford game this weekend and wondered if you can provide any insight on where to tailgate, places to see, hotels close to campus, etc. Looks to be about a 4.5 hr drive from Greenville to Birmingham, and we'll probably come down Saturday morning and head back here on Sunday. Any help is appreciated.

Any ASU folks that are going and want to hook up PM me. :thumb:

We have a group driving over from ATL. I can tell you from 08 that the visiting team tailgate area is across from the main entrance from the university and a short walk to the stadium. Come look us up. :thumb:

Just rolled back in from Birmingham - fantastic weekend :thumb: Birmingham is a really cool town with loads of good night spots and restaurants. Samford's campus is beautiful, although the stadium is pretty small - they had their tenth largest crowd with about 9,600 fans, and we probably had 1500-2000 from ASU. The hospitality and friendliness of the Samford folks was great - I'm still trying to figure out how they ran out of bottled water in the first quarter on a 90* plus day :?

Hung out with SpeedkingATL who kindly cooked up some brats and good conversation - it was great to meet you guys.

Oh yeah, and we won. That was kinda good too. :kisswink:
