MVFC after week 3

Wow...conference doesn't look like I thought it would. WTH SIU...you lost to a damn OVC team...AT HOME?

I haven't really saw WIU or MSU play yet but as of now here are my rankings of the MVFC teams

1. UNI
Spoiler: show
If we hold on to the ball inside the 20 we win both games by 24 ish. Allowed 39 total yards rushing through the first two games
2. WIU
Spoiler: show
Yep, I said it. As of now WIU is crushing people, and playing with a good Purdue team. They may be a sleeper this year (maybe). They are in the same boat that I put YSU in right now with their wins, but their OOC loss was more "impressive to me, and they have straight crushed the other two games.
3. MSU
Spoiler: show
Put up some gaudy numbers against KSU, more than I expected them too. They were a team I couldn't really judge before the season. They could have been really bad, or pretty good like their fans thought. Thus far it looks like the ladder of the two options. I'm not sold on them yet, but I'm more sold on them than the rest of the conference.
4. NDSU
Spoiler: show
Offense has looked like complete shit, but their D is pretty good. I'm still not too impressed with the KU win, the UNI game wasn't as close as the score indicates, and they beat up a bad Morgan State team. But they do have 2 wins, and one is a FBS wins even if a bad FBS team. The defense will be the only thing saving them this year the way it looks.
5. ISUR
Spoiler: show
I should maybe have them below YSU for the way they looked the first two weeks, but it sounded like they righted the ship some yesterday. The offense is the only thing keeping them ahead of YSU now. The defense looked terrible before yesterday, and still might be as SDSU just looks like a complete disaster, but they do have a hell of an offense I believe.
6. YSU
Spoiler: show
Scores look impressive, but they were against NEC and Pioneer teams. Carry that kind of play into conference and you'll move up my poll quicker than I thought you would though.
7. SIU
Spoiler: show
Have looked like complete shit, but I see that ship getting turned around. They could easily fall a couple spots next week if they don't get it turned around REAL fast. I'm hearing rumors about Lennon not being able to recruit and now that Kill's guys are gone (last batch of his recruits are now SR's I believe), things haven't been looking so hot.
8. SDSU
Spoiler: show
The only reason you aren't last is because ISUB has only beaten an NAIA (or something like that). It is really looking like you had a flash in the pan season with those 5 guys you pulled in from Arizona that are now gone.
9. ISUB
Spoiler: show
Well, you did get a win this year already.

I don't know what to think about SIU. They may not be as good as last year, but I never would have thought they would lose at home to an OVC team.

I was very skeptical about UNI coming into this year, but with how everyone else has looked so far, if UNI can clean up their horrendous turnover problem, I believe we are a legitimate contender.

Really, it seems like at this point just about anyone could go on a hot streak and grab an auto-bid or at-large.

I was gonna do a ranking, and list the teams as: NIU, ISU (illinois southern univ.), UWI, SUDS (state university of dakota south), and the like.
But frankly, I have no clue how the conference standings will end up.

It was a bad loss, no doubt, losing a 21-3 lead. It's been kind of a perfect storm: SIU is overrated, SEMO is underrated, injuries, including to three of four all-americans, among others, got some freshmen's feet wet early, the o-line has no seniors on the two deep chart, the whole defense has only four seniors on their two deep, neither QB has seized the bit. This week is gut-check time for the dawgs

The only thing that gives me hope is that the rest of the MVC isn't doing much better, so far this has been a season of upsets for lots of top programs.

.
That's my hope right now...have to make it through conference play now after taking a dump on our out of conference play.

Seems like a rather unpredictable year in the conference. I still have no clue what to expect.

SIU has gotten hit by the injury bug, and is beatable.
SDSU hasn't accomplished anything yet this season.
UNI's defense looks good, but their offense is in disarray.
YSU has improved, and could be back in the running for a top spot in conference (still too early to tell).
Illinois State, Missouri State, and NDSU look like they could be in the mix as well.
WIU is much improved over last year, it seems and could make some noise.
Indiana State may pull out a win or two, but I don't see them as much more than a spoiler (but who knows, the way this year is going, they may get hot and make a run)
