Sac is 0-15 vs UM. Will they win this week? Is it really possible Montana could lose 3 straight?

As excited as I am at the prospect, I'm not going to hold my breath. Sac is on a high, but the Griz are a team that are going to be looking to make a statement. It's dangerous to corner any wounded animal. Can't imagine what a Grizzly could do. Win last night got everyone in Hornet Nation fired up including myself, but we have to remember we are going into the den of the beast, who were ranked #1 earlier in the season for a reason. Hornets are going to have to have a HUGE game with little mistakes. Its possible but the pessimist in me has major doubts.

Not going to stop me voting for a win though. Go Hornets! :thumb:

I would if I could. I'm trying to watch my spending and my trip this year is to Sac for the Homecoming game against UNC. Attending a Griz game in Missoula is definitely on my "to do" list.

I would strongly consider the possibility if the game was in Sac-Town. With it being in Missoula is a different story. One thing, though. How long has it been since the Grizzlies had virtually a must-win game in September? Come to think of it, how long has it been since the Grizzlies had a must-win game ever (save for the playoffs)?

We tried to make that "statement", last Saturday, in Cheney, but it didn't work out for us!

Hopefully, we'll be able to do it this Saturday...

If the game wasn't a.) in Missoula and b.) homecoming I'd say it would be very possible...but I really doubt it with those two being true.

I'm interested to see how Montana comes out of the gate for this game...are they doubting themselves or are they hungry for redemption?

I think you doubt yourself on Sunday & Monday but by the time Tuesday rolls around you start to get that hunger pang and it gets more prevalent as the days roll on. We'll see if that is evident on Saturday I guess.

The Griz do have a history of rallying after early-season struggles…

2008 - Griz nearly lose to CWU, then lose to Weber. Then they win 10 in a row to get to the title game.
2003 - After the horrible NDSU DII loss, the Griz crush Sam Houston & easily dispatch Idaho to eventually end up in the playoffs.
2000 - After a lackluster home loss to Hofstra, Montana wins 13 straight to get to Chattanooga.
1999 - Griz lose early conference game to Portland State, still win the Big Sky outright (oddly enough, that was the last time anyone won the title outright without running the table).
1998 - Following a 3-3 start, UM wins 5 straight and gets some help from a Northridge choke to make the playoffs.
1992 - Griz finish 6-5 after starting 1-5.

Everyone assumes this will happen but will they stumble again?

It's certainly possible, but there was one very good sign from the EWU loss: Montana got the running game going. Chase Reynolds had a 100-yard day & the Griz ran for nearly 200 yards against a very good front 7. They did have 6 turnovers (plus a blocked punt), but EWU needed every single one of those to win. If UM keeps "pounding the rock" with Reynolds and they cut down the bonehead mistakes, they'll be tough to beat.
