To what do you attribute the Griz inability to beat an FCS opponent so far this year?

Sometimes a free fall is caused when a team fails to meet expectations. This might be the case with the Griz?

I think it's the brutal CAA schedule you play. No, wait...

Really? We lost to two teams that STRUGGLED to beat Division II schools. We have yet to record a countable win. We have 8 games left to win 7 to even be playoff eligible.

New system.
The Griz used to be a power running team on offense and a bend don't break defensive team. Both very conservative schemes.
This new version seems to be high risk, high reward on both sides of the ball and currently it has been mostly high risk.
How do we play so poorly both games, but yet were still in a position to win both. Not like we have been blown out.
I am starting to wonder if the leap is too big for the players to transition in one off season. I think we have the talent, it is just going to take some time (obviously) for this team to click. Some easy Big Sky games will hopefully be exactly what this team needs to work the kinks out.

I wouldn't worry too much.
Y'all lost two very close games on the road to good teams.
Y'all can use the next 4 games to work out your issues before you have to play anybody too tough. If you lose any of your next 4, I'd start worrying.

Meh, even if you don't make the playoffs (too early to tell anyways), you guys are still the Griz. You have the history, you have the fans, and you have the facilities. I mean, not everything lasts forever (see ODU Lady Monarchs), but look around the FCS and consider what you have.

And history is playoffs and BSC's....

The only think that makes this a positive is that the Griz have a chance to continue playing on Turkey Day weekend.

Good call. We've become a very spoiled fan base over the last 15 years.

1st game - Western never saw so much pressure in their entire life..resulted in easy win couldn't really evaluate team
2nd Game - Legit team where you saw Griz struggle a little bit in their offensive execution..normal "first game " stuff.
3rd EWU - First off..how many times was T. Jones in Griz crosshairs 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage..and how many times did he simply outrun everybody again, and again, and again..amazing I think I counted like 18 times that I saw and I missed the first quarter and half of the the game.
In general, the Griz could get away with mistakes in the past during conference play and still win. I have been saying for the last 3 years that the bottom teams are getting better and that Sac State, EWU, WSU, and MSU are making strides too. With basically a coaching change there are going to be hiccups in execution and teams are now able to hang with the Griz and play with them straight up. So turnovers matter..lack of 3rd down conversions..matter.
I don't see the Griz losing again unless they don't show up mentally. There is just too much talent especially on defense for them not to make a run..

So are the Griz a Top 25 team?

It's obviously D1B's hex. I'm also willing to place all the blame on the sate of Iowa and their awesomeness taking away the UM mojo.

Is that why UNI, Iowa St., and Iowa (losing bad right now) all lost today?

I think it's way too soon for Montana fans to panic. It's two road losses to two good teams. I wouldn't be at all suprised to see the Griz run the table the rest of the way.
My guess is that Montana ends up no worse than 8-3 and hosts a first round playoff game.

We will be on the road...if we make the playoffs.
