How much did your school get for it's paycheck game(s). Is there a big difference between what a BCS team pays compared to a MAC level team?

MAC teams generally don't get near the attendance of most of the BCS programs. So I don't see how they could afford to pay the same amount to bring in FCS teams that BCS teams often do.

Or course, I'm just trying to use logic, which doesn't necessarily have anything to do with facts.

I wouldn't think so either. I don't see MAC teams paying 500K plus per game, however, I also don't hear a lot of BCS teams paying that either.

UMass is reportedly getting $550k from Michigan. A team which averages 110,000 fans per game can pay more than one which averages 15k fans per game.

Yeah...Apparently we are getting screwed by only getting 350K from Iowa and Iowa State. Washington State would pay us 700K, and blah blah blah...

Fact is no one is going to be getting that much money anymore thanks to ASU, Jacksonville State, and JMU knocking off who they did. It doesn't help that UNI, NDSU, etc... are all collecting FBS wins/scares against FBS teams on a regular basis.

We got $750k from LSU the year after we beat Michigan. Michigan only paid us $400k. So, we almost doubled up.

UCA was going to play Oklahoma State but I think the game is postponed until 2014 or something like that. The payout is $325,000 I believe and Oklahoma State said that if we needed the money we could have it anyway. Some rich donor runs that school. What to do  ..what to do ;) ...(for a new division I school this is easy)

Central Connecticut got $225,000 to play at Western Michigan in 2007, so that's probably got to be about the floor.

MSU just got 400,000 for playing K State. Rumor is that Arkansas is paying 425,00 next season, Louisville is paying 450,00 in 2012,Iowa is paying 500,000 in 2013.

The record high must be App St. The recent JMU game at Va Tech was reported to be $425K plus all the good pub. Do you think any BCS schools would ever make a contact that pays a lesser amount if the FCS school wins, you get $400K if we win and $200K if you win.

I'm pretty sure that is illegal.
Or at the very least, against NCAA regulations.

When has BCS schools cared about the NCAA in football. They would split away, if they could figure how to control March Madness and that pile of money.

Do boxers get X amount of money if they win a fight, and 2-3 times that amount if they lose?

(yes, it happens. it's called "fixing" a match. The mafia is into that sort of thing)

I'd imagine the cost varies greatly by conference and school.

Montana is getting a good deal less by going to a larger stadium in Tennessee than we did in our last BCS conference game against Iowa...but its still a substantial sum ($500k + costs). Needless to say I doubt Akron would give us those same conditions, nor do I think it would be beneficial to Washington State (on a more regionalistic sense) to schedule us.

I think in state and travel costs play into that. In '08, we got $200K for playing Navy, but it's only a 40 minute drive down the road and we traveled same day. I heard we got in the $350-400K from Indiana this year. Same from Northwestern in '09. I wouldn't expect nearly that much from Maryland next year.

Cal Poly is getting $53,000 from Old Dominion.

The low will be $0.00

When Ballsac State comes to our place.

They're your typical flat ass broke MAC football program. Wanted to schedule a win without having(being able to)pay for it.

So we cut them a deal where the game will be played at our place.

VMI got $240K for Ohio U. in 2007, but only $150K for Army in 2009, and this year.
