The Griz Goddess and myself just got back to the compound after our foray to the Golden Coast to watch the Cal Poly beatdown of our beloved Griz.

I would like to take this opportunity to give slostang a MAJOR shoutout. Your hospitality was boundless! Thank you so much for hooking up the Goddess and I with tix to the Stampede. We got a chance to visit with several Cal Poly fans, and also meandered through the Griz section and saw a couple familiar faces as well. The food rocked, the beer was flowing, and the Griz gear was everywhere!!

The tickets (again, courtesy of slostang) on the 45 yard line were tremendous (at least once the sun went down ):



After we watched the depressing end to the game, it was off to The Firestone Bar & Grill, where again the beer was plentiful, the food (OMG, the Tri-Tip sandwich was to DIE FOR) was awesome, and friendship abounded!!


Your buddy, Steve, was the consumate victor, buying all the beers....Montana fans' money was no good at the Firestone Saturday night! Just tell Steve to quit apologizing for The Firestone....he must have said 10 times "I know it's not Reds, but it'll have to do!" The Goddess and myself had a grand time visiting with Cal Poly's D-Line coach....very humble in victory and a real pleasure to pick his brain.



Jamir was the consumate gentleman, and still looks like he could play! He was giddy with excitement, and fielding calls from coaching associates around the country like CP had just won the national title!

Anyway, just wanted to give props where props were due, slostang....you're the MAN, and I highly recommend that trip for ANYONE who wants to see good football with good peeps in a GORGEOUS setting.

Great meeting you and Griz Goddess. I glad I could return a small fraction of the hospitality that I have always receive when I go to Missoula. Glad you had a good time. Looking forward to being in the Big Sky with such great program like Montana and of course some of the best fans in all of football.

Sounds like a great time, AZ. Very jealous. Wish we were still playing the Mustangs.

Whatever controversies have gone down between Cal Poly, UOP, and Sac State, SloStang has always been a stand-up guy on the boards. He is an asset to these boards.

Sounds like a great time. That is what college football should be like. It is nice to hear that Griz Nation was represented by classy fans, even in defeat. I have always enjoyed reading Stangs posts. Standup guy. I look forward to the day when we can make those trips.

Met slo in Red's last year and I can't add anything to the copious praise you have already given other than to say one of my favorite things was that he was drinkin' my brand.

Never met a CP dude that wasn't cool as hell. A few years ago there was a former LB for CP that flew out by himself and just wanted to go see the game as a fan because he liked playing here so much and wanted to see it from the other side. I went up and started talking to him Friday night before the game and he hung out with me and my friends and drank and partied with us til he left on Sunday. Real good people that know how to have a great time.

If I remember correctly, Slo donated a Cal Poly helmet to Red's.

Anyone that doubts his integrity, and/or sportsmanship after such a selfless act, needs their ass kicked!

Hopefully, him, and the Cal Poly faithful will have many many more visits to Missoula in the future. As usual, his money isn't gonna' be worth squat!
