Would you go or watch a Nova vs. FBS game??

If you happened to be equal distance from Delaware Stadium or wherever Nova hosts their games, which game would interest you more. Nova vs. a Big East team, or UD vs. a CAA team??

If you couldn't go to either, but both were televised at the same time, which one would you watch.

To make the choices easier,
Nova vs. UConn (Former A10 foes) or
UD vs. Current CAA Leader.

Let's not kid ourselves. In terms of support, alma mater always wins out, and FBS always wins out over a lower classification in the minds of the public.

Your point?

The Poll question would have probably been better served on the PHILLY.COM site. There's been numerous discussions about the average Philly fan. Where they would and would not attend. And rather than use UD, Temple would have been the better choice. However, in this forum, there's not that many Temple fans, and the average Philly fan probably does not frequent this forum much. Nonetheless I pushed on seeking feedback from all who would answer.

I'd more likely go see Nova play anyone but U Conn from the Big East.

So it sounds like your real question is "Would Villanova Be Successful In the Big East Where Temple Was Not?"

The answer is "absolutely", but only if (IMHO):

#1 - They could secure the Linc as their home venue (or construct a comparable alternative).

#2 - They really can get ND and BC on their schedule.

#3 - The Big East stays intact and keeps its BCS bid.

#4 - They avoid the repetitive <5 win seasons that Temple suffered while in the Big East.

Why? UConn might be the best team in the Big East this year.

I agree. I think Villanova could be successful at ther FBS level given your conditions. It wouldn't hurt for them to play Penn St every now and then too.

No, not exactly. The real question, and again this forum is probably not suited to is;

What game would Joe Phillyfan, living equi-distance from Nova & Temple/UD go see; Nova vs a FBS program or Temple vs an FBS program. Given this forum is slanted towards FCS, I replaced Temple with UD. I was going to slant it even further by picking UD vs the likes of WCU/Duquense/Monmouth, but I decided to be fair and pick UD vs. and CAA team.

For those outside the Philly area, which game would they watch on the tube. I expect UD fans to support their program, but I was wondering would he casual UD fan yearn to watch FBS football if it was in close proximity.

Joe Phillyfan would stay at home, watch Penn St on TV, and then head out to buy beer in anticipation of getting to the parking lot at the Linc by 6AM the next morning for the Eagles' tailgating. Of course, that's assuming he doesn't start tailgating 12 hours earlier at his house in preparation for the formal tailgate.
