I think SUU gets an invite and the Dakotas go to the MVFC.

But still, maybe we should call up Utah State, Idaho, or San Jose State for that 12th spot. :thumb:

Nobody is picking on them. I like the SUU guys that post here and I hope they have a great year and get an invite as well. Even if people are taking a jab at them nobody wishes them ill will and fucking with your friends is exactly what this site is built on so go with it, or hold your tongue.

We've got SuperHornet and a couple of other gals that think we need to monitor what we say so people's feeling are OK...we don't need another.

No offense.

Holy shit, I should've typed that faster or waited, even SH is having a chuckle...I'm not sure what it's about but I love to see them giggle anyway.

haha fair enough. I'm sensitive to football teams dying.

I guess where i'm coming from is as a San Francisco State fan, i've seen whole teams, divisions, and conferences disappear in a decade- and it's probably what's going to happen to at least one of the teams from the WAC (most likely candidate- the last California team) and now probably to SSU.

I just hate seeing football teams die. just recently Western Washington, Hofstra and Northeastern have both dropped the sport, and football costs a lot of money no matter what level you are playing- SJSU would probably have to spend as much as a FCS school as they would were they to stay at FBS.

of course i enjoy banter but i really wish that there was more than one Division II team in the entire state of California, and more than 4 FCS teams...

HOW?

22 less schollies, no travel to Hawaii, no travel to Louisiana, they could actually DROP sports and still qualify. I think your math is bad.

Makes me a touch sad...we had some good in-conference games in the GWFC. Particularly with the CA schools. Off to bigger and better things though, I'm sure the programs will all land somewhere decent and establish new rivalries.

Dont worry S F Gaters i can take crap with the best of them :thumb:. I will say though that i am a little nervous as to what the developements will be. If we get stuck as an Independent that is going to suck so im hoping that the Big Sky will wake up and add us or hope for a summit league formation :twocents:

I don't think the BSC needs to wake up, they are completely in the drivers seat and last time I checked the BSC is not in the business of welfare. Don't take this wrong, as I think SUU is ok, but don't think the BSC owes you anything. They could probably care less if SUU drops off into the Grand Canyon and disappeared.

I just want all you SUU fans know that you wouldnt be in this situation if your stadium was up to par. You cant field a fb team then neglect it. the BSC shd avoid SUU.

I think that Southern Utah will soon find it’s way into the Big Sky Conference. Fullerton mentioned that the 12th member would be a full member. I think that North Dakota and South Dakota will find a home with NDSU and SDSU.As I recall the last time the Dakota schools tried to get into the BSC there where objections from Sac State and Portland State because of travel concerns. Southern Utah as a member of the Summit for the other sports probably has some ties to break, schedules to coordinate ,exist terms to deal with etc. before anything can be announced. I don’t think that San Jose State or Idaho will ever drop to FCS even though it is probably in their best interest and maybe even necessary for their football programs to survive.

SUU doesn't have dumpy facilities. the football stadium is better than the lower big sky. its a lot like eastern's maybe nicer. suu would have the 2nd best basketball arena in the conference.

interesting and worthwhile point, and i freely admit to not having done the math. I'm willing to engage in the debate that SJSU could be the first school that would drop down and could benefit from doing so. My concern is that the overwhelming history of college football shifts like this in the past have resulted in teams and conferences disappearing. but i admit it is possible. i'd like to see some numbers, what kinds of numbers SJSU would spend/generate as a member of a 6-state, 6-team WAC versus a 8-state, 12-team Sun Belt with 3 other teams in California... i'm not sure. I need to think about this some more lol
