Rumor on the Kennesaw St. board says that the Big South has already extended Kennesaw St. an invitation for FB only.

im up for it. I wish Campbell would bring there football program with them when they come fulltime next year.

Maybe the Big South can finally become a full armed and operational football league with 8 teams.

Can any Big South (or other) "insiders" here confirm the rumor?

I was under the impression the BSC was only looking for full timers... but that was a while ago, and I've been out of the loop.

Nothing real has happened yet. Why would they be fb only. BSC has 11 members, if KSU adds fb, no brainer 12th member

See my first reaction is that this is evidence that perhaps Kyle has changed his stance on Charlotte (under pressure from the league presidents, no doubt).

They hired Vince Dooley to lead a committee to study whether they should add football. The committee is expected to publish its results next month.

I'm hoping the BS gets some more football teams soon. All of our teams need more conference teams so we can avoid the Div. II sleepers that we end up having to play since Southern Conference teams won't commit to home and home games. Also, with Stony Brook and Liberty spending nearly $24 million on their athletic programs one has to wonder how long they will be in the BS.

I know we are in talks right about extending our contract with the Big South. Personally I hope we do another four years. My take it is a growing conference that is becoming more competitive each year. About spending 24 million dollars- Hey this is Long Island it cost that much to turn the lights on and buy gas for the bus

i think we did it with Furman a few years back

Well the D-II Gulf South split leaving only 5 football teams and 3 of them are real good. N.Alabama could go to the OVC, Valdosta St. could go to the Big South. Delta St. could go to the SLC. W.Georgia and W.Florida(looking to add fb) could go to the A-Sun and be fb affiliates for the Big South

Rumor is that football is a done deal at KSU, and a press conference this Wednesday will be a mere formality:

Big South is the most natural fit, unless they go non-scholly and PFL, which I doubt.

The Big South would be smart to pick them up to solidfy their AQ in the case SBU moves to a more natural northern conference.

G-W has had home/home series with WCU, Appy, Furman, Wofford, and Chatty over the past decade.

As far as the Big South, bringing in Kennesaw as a full member would be wise. SBU will leave when their commitment expires in three years, and LU is heading for the land Falwell wanted them to be at. Campbell adding scholarship football would help matters greatly as well.

I thought I had read somewhere that Radford was considering football as well.

I didn't know Kennesaw was a state.

SBU actually extended their contract through the 2015 season, but I'm sure they have a buyout and will move if something more northern comes up.

I realize its a SB nation website - so its more of a blog and less of a news source - but the writer does link to legitimate articles and sources from the Kennesaw State website.

I, being a fan of a school that isn't in the least bit forward thinking, am jealous of a school that has an administration willing to say their goals are, no matter how unrealistic they may appear at this moment.
