2010: Listed as a reserve at strong-side inside linebacker on EWU’s preseason depth chart.
2009: Named to the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team. He played in all 12 games, and made his lone start at linebacker in his collegiate debut against Western Oregon (9/5/09). He finished that game with a season-high four tackles after earning a starting spot when senior starter Makai Borden suffered a hamstring injury early in preseason practices. He was EWU’s special teams player of the week against Weber State (10/10/09).
2008: Redshirted. Was the team’s scout team defensive player of the week once.
HS: Graduated from Bellevue HS in 2008. Was a second team All-KingCo 3A League selection as an outside linebacker. He led Bellevue to an 11-2 record before losing to unbeaten O’Dea 27-17 in the semifinals of the WIAA State 3A Playoffs.
Personal: Born 11/9/89 in Bellevue, Wash. Will turn 21 between Eastern’s games against Portland State and Southern Utah. Business administration major. Last name is pronounced “hale.”
