We've been taking a look at the non-conference opponents on Florida's schedule (other than traditional rival Florida State). Earlier this week, we offered a brief break down of South Florida, UF's second opponent on Sept. 11. Earlier, we gave a preview of the Gators' Sept. 4 opener against Miami of Ohio. Today, we take a look at Appalachian State, which may be the most dangerous team of the three.

At least they're giving us a little respect - there is so much unknown at this point, and I thought we'd have heard a bit more about our QB situation by now. Either Jerry's made the call or it's going to come down to who has the best August.

The team hasn't held any practices since the spring per NCAA rules so we shouldn't be surprised that nothing has changed.

There haven't been any OFFICIAL team activities. You are crazy to think the players aren't working out and coaches aren't watching.

I doubt there have been workouts at a level that a coach could say who QB 1 will be.

Even if there were a favorite it could easily change by the second week of camp. From everyone I've talked to in Boone it sounds like Pressley is in the driver seat for the opener, but Jackson has more upside and many believe he has the tools to win the job. The biggest key for Jackson is throwing the shorter pass with some touch, he's got a cannon, but like a lot of young QBs he wants to throw it hard on every pass.

Florida is gonna wallop the snot out of Appalachian.

We are the meat in a USC --- FlaSt sandwich.

(unless Jackson goes all AE on them with 450 yds of O, and we win 52-51)
