I don't think we need rules changes to get the sixth since our AD has the entire selection committee in his pocket...BeauFoster wrote:No, the CAA needed room for a 6th team.
I don't have a link Catfish but if Dane sees this I'll bet he has one stashed away somewhere, or can just recite them to you.MarkCCU wrote:Can someone help me find the new rules? I must be blind because I cannot find them.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not so much a "tried and true product" IMO. I think the NCAA wanted reap some benefits from the nostalgia crowd....kind of like the interest in throwback uniforms....."Come see the mighty Grizzlies battle for the right to stay home and act like they actually are a viable NC possibility".....or something like that......you know, kind of the "something old is something new again" routine.....Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:Appa, I think you may be on to something here. The NCAA probably wants to do everything they can to have the premier FCS team and location in the division for obvious reasons. You can't really blame them though. It was cool to finally see a game televised from App State but I gotta tell ya man seeing a bunch of fans running around that looked like extras from the movie O' Brother Where are thou too much more than what they are currently on and the novelty is gonna wear off a little. You can't blame em' for going with a tried and true product as opposed to the flash in the pan thing. They know that after current run is over you guys are gonna lose the fair weather support and not be able to pay the bills and then there goes that fancy indoor plumbing that you guys installed this year.

Congratulations.
I notice the distinct evasion and lack of denial regarding "fair weather fans" and their disappearance when Appy inevitably starts losing post-Edwards.Appaholic wrote:It's not so much a "tried and true product" IMO. I always thought having non-CAA teams diluted the product.Col Hogan wrote:Who says we CAA'ers are peachy with this???
My post was a tounge-in-cheek slam at some APP State poster (not you) who plainly said the CAA got five teams in last season "because the UMAss AD has the selection committee in his pocket"...![]()
I have clearly posted numerous times that I think expanding the playoffs is a mistake...it just dilutes the product...
Nah. You guys do that all by yourselves.BlueHen86 wrote:I always thought having non-CAA teams diluted the product.Col Hogan wrote:Who says we CAA'ers are peachy with this???

We're trying to, but they keep inviting non-CAA teams to the playoffs.AZGrizFan wrote:Nah. You guys do that all by yourselves.BlueHen86 wrote: I always thought having non-CAA teams diluted the product.
Damn, I hadn't looked at it that way...BlueHen86 wrote:I always thought having non-CAA teams diluted the product.Col Hogan wrote:Who says we CAA'ers are peachy with this???

I try not to reuse things to often on the boards but since you have no problem recycling you diatribes I will give you the analogy one more time:Appaholic wrote: It's not so much a "tried and true product" IMO. Funny stuff. And when I'm done staring at your avatar, I'll read what you posted.Ursus A. The Grizzlies are the Rolling Stones
App State is Dexi's Midnight Runners
I do hope the University invest wisely because once the revenue stream dries up I don't want to see you guys on an episode of "Where are they now" as a group of broken down drunken hayseeds. Of course it's not much different than the current situation for the fan base.
Good job fishing this time as this thread has a little more stamina than the last couple of attempts.
I liken the Griz more to "The Two Coreys" or Robert Downey Jr........good at their craft when they were younger, but now making news usually when they are arrested or in rehab.....Ursus A. That may be possible too. I just know that the Griz have been relevant for a very long time and much like Robert Downey Jr. can still lay claim to Dexi's MR's as their bitch.Appaholic wrote:

Only if they leave Missoula, Ursus.....only if they leave Missoula.....Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:That may be possible too. I just know that the Griz have been relevant for a very long time and much like Robert Downey Jr. can still lay claim to Dexi's MR's as their bitch.Appaholic wrote:

I see what you mean Appa, it is every fans dream to have less home games. Maybe with the new indoor plumbing you guys will start to enjoy your home games a little more. Are they gonna have a class before the first home game to show you heathens how to flush the toilet or have you at the very least used one at some of the other road games you've made it too? I'm flat out telling you Appa that getting some of that turn of the last century in Boone is gonna make you enjoy the home games a whole lot more.Appaholic wrote:
