TOP 10 DEFENSIVE BACKS

1 - Trumaine Johnson, Jr., Montana
Comment: QBs shy away from the league's best shutdown corner.

2 - Matt Estrada, Sr., Northern Arizona
Comment: First-team all-league pick led NAU in tackles last year.

3 - Zach Schrader, Sr., Sacramento State
Comment: Was the newcomer of the year in the Big Sky in '09.

4 - Korey Askew, Jr., Northern Colorado
Comment: If he makes an INT he's off to the races.

5 - Matt Johnson, Jr., Eastern Washington
Comment: Supports the run as well as any safety in the league.

6 - Michael Rider, Sr., Montana State
Comment: Ranked second in the Big Sky in INTs among safeties.

7 - Max Hewitt, Sr., Northern Colorado
Comment: The ringleader of an improving Bears defense.

8 - DeShawn Shead, Jr., Portland State

matt estrada had one heck of a season last year but its never really a good sign for your defense to have its last line tally the most tackles. I hope he has another outstanding season but would really like to see our d-line and lbs eat up a few more of those tackles.

Shead did not see many balls thrown to him last year. The opposite side was basically by committee last year and teams could throw away from him with a pretty good level of success. I don't know if that will change this year. Remains to be seen.

Well, he'll get a few tossed to him from Selle. Look for Johnson to play receiver in a few special packages Pflu has put together. He did originally come to UM as a receiver.

That was the best part of last years Game against NAU...EEESSSTTTRRRAAADDDAAA!!!!!!
