High School: Named All-District at Tyler Lee after posting 68 pancake blocks in 2007 ... played at North Shore High School prior to attending Lee ... helped lead North Shore to three district championships as an All-District pick ... also lettered in track.

Personal: Born Sept. 26, 1989 ... son of Charles and Regina Dews ... has a sister, Sharletta.

I'm positive this kid was in more than 6 games. He will be our new starting NG. Over the off season he lost weight but bulked up and impressed during spring drills.

Okay. forget this guy. He left TXST and is transferring to Tyler JC. He hopes to play there one season and get re-recruited (to an FBS, is the consensus). Originally recruited/committed to SMU, his offer was 'pulled' by June Jones (he didn't fit the scheme). We are thinking the kid's ego is bigger than his talent, even if he would have been a great NG for us. Chances of getting into an FBS after this season aren't just way up there.
