Let's start a season contest. Open to anyone. I'll work out the specifics and post it. Also, the winner will receive a prize which we can also figure out(and make a nominal donation towards) at a later date. WHo is with me!? It's time to take over the reins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a few ideas and it looks to be a stormy night. I'll try to put something together tonight.

Season contest for what?

Sounds too much like a betting pool. There could be ramifications.

I've been thinking for the last couple of weeks about doing a Top 10/15 poll. My biggest concern however is how to get it started.

I thought about having people PM me with their top 10, and the lower vote getters would have enough to compile a top 15. But I don't believe the PM's are the way to go on this.

Maybe we could work something in short notice with SME Network??

I wasn't thinking of a poll are any betting. I had a few possibilities. We can have weekly conference match up's. Maybe have our own fantasy football.

I'm going to try and take over the FCS Fantasy League from Kardplayer. Anyone interested? If not, I won't bother. We have got to increase the traffic and hopefully if we can get some people playing the game, it will bring on conversation, smack and various discussions here.

I don't know the specifics since you haven't worked em out yet but I think the generalities are superb.

Here it is. I am setting up an FCS Fantasy League. I will be getting everything today and hopefully will have it set up within the next week or two. Sounds good. Do you want to take the point on that? I think if we have different people doing different things, then It will help increase and sustain dialogue.

At 1500(3 pm) I will leave work and begin creating the first CS poll. ! All those that wish to take part, have your names to me by noon Tomorrow please. I will try to be creative and unique, idea's are welcomed and I encourage anyone to help with any idea's about how to make it more enjoyable.

Here it is fellars. Please, feel free to make suggestions or whatever. It is just an idea.

Ok, each week, starting on monday, you pick 3 games from each conference. You predict the score and then you choose a conference and predict the record. For example,

CCU 21 CSU 7
G-w 35 Liberty 14
Stoney Brook 52 VMI 0
SoCon (7-3)

Now, for the points system:
If you predict dead on, you get 20 pts
If you predict the winning score w/n 5 points, you get 10 points
If you predict the winning score w/n 10 points, you get 5 points.
If you predict the Conf. Record w/n 2 win, you get 10 points
If you predict the Conf. Record w/n 3 wins, you get 5 points.

So, by Friday, you must turn in your 3 games per conference and your 1 conference record. Hopefully we can get some people to put in a few bucks and the winner will get a prize at the end of the season. This is open to modifications, it's just a starting point.

I like it. is this going to be thread based or do we pm you with the picks. Maybe it would be good to keep as much of it on the board as possible. Maybe it would get too cluttered, I haven't thought it through obviously. Could you close the thread at the deadline so it couldn't be edited?

So, if I'm doin' my math correctly, there's 70 possible points each week?

Me not understand conference record. *drags knuckles* When conference play starts, wouldn't they all be .500 (i.e. SoCon 4-4, since there are 8 games)?

The numbers were randomly picked, but you're right. I didn't think of that. I was thinking more along the lines Say Citadel wins 5 games and Furman wins 5, the SoCon would have 10 wins in the conference.

I was wondering that finer point as well but figured I must have missed something in the explanation.

If anyone can think of something better, more unique, etc...lets hear it. Like I said, it's a start.
