How's this for a "conference"?

WAC
Washington State (they have no business in the Pac 12)

Montana State

Colorado State (can't compete in the MWC)

Then, the rest of them could shake out like this:

Pac-12

Hawaii (let the RICH schools pay to travel back and forth to that godforsaken place)

MWC
Texas Christian

I know, I know...there's a ton of flaws in this scenario:

1) MWC becomes very "Texas" centric...
2) Pac-12 ain't EVER going to go after Hawaii
3) Wazzu ain't EVER leaving a BCS conference
4) Nobody that's currently in the MWC would voluntarily move "down" to the WAC

But it sure makes a nice, relatively concise WAC conference with very little travel issues

Additional Flaws:
New Mexico will never be in a conference with NMSU - UTEP won't either.
MWC won't take a start up.
NAU will be getting a Pac 10 invite any day now.

I've heard Hawai'i called a lot of things, but that definitely ain't one of 'em.

Ive seen on here a couple of times where you mention us getting an invite from the Pac 10 is that just wishful thinking or do you know something more. Ive dreamed of the jacks someday joining the Pac 10 but never thought that it would be something that could be attainted nor do I think it will ever happen but its nice to have dreams…theyre what make life tolerable right haha

Naw, it's just Jon's pipedream. Honestly dropping football's more likely than us moving to FBS, let alone the Pac10. The school's in so much trouble right now I honestly have no idea how we'd pay for a jump, increased scholarships, coaches salaries, etc. The team as trouble drawing fans now why would competing at the WAC level have any difference on that?

I always thought it was a knock on the folks thinking the MWC would consider an FCS school for expansion and Jon was just making a crack to outshine that thinking.

BTW I though NM St & UTEP had a rivalry? They are the only FBS school within geographical range to be considered a rival.

1. Montana makes more sense for the MWC than UTSA does. By a long shot.

2. I consider HI to be as AZ described it. I hated getting sent there while I was in the Navy. Of course, I only got to go to Oahu, which was littered with tourists to the point that I couldn't find a bare spot of beach big enough to lay down a freaking towel. I suppose things would be different if I went to Maui or the Big Island....

No shit. Went to Oahu while in the Navy. Hated it. Flew to Kauai for 3 days. Loved it. Went to Maui for a week 5 years ago. Loved it.

Oahu ain't Hawaii. That's like going to L.A. and saying you hate California. Or going to Billings and saying Montana is ugly.
