Hmm, Delaware making the playoffs but seemingly losing at home to SDSU, assuming since you have them seeded. :coffee: It'll be tough to make it through the CAA with just 2 league losses.

I've got Delaware with losses to SDSU, W&M and Villanova. 8-3
I've got Villanova with losses to Temple, Maine and UNH. 8-3
I've got W&M with losses to Villanova, North Carolina and UNH. 8-3
I've got Maine with losses to Syracuse, Delaware, and W&M. 8-3
I've got UNH with loses to Pitt and Maine (OT). 9-2 - they're my long shot seed.

I think that's consistent. I also know that it means the rest of the CAA will beat the heck out of each other and they'll be some teams with a lot more losses then last year (e.g. Richmond and JMU).

MVFC will definitely get more than 2 teams in this time around. UNI, MSU, ILSU, and YSU all have good shots at getting the 3rd spot in the league this year.

The will definitely be improved overall, but I think that may hurt themselves for playoffs purposes.

I can see UNI, MSU, ILSU and YSU beating each other up and losing some OOC games. If the CAA doesn't pan out for 5 bids, then the MVFC will definitely get more than 2 spots.

"Farcicle" - Is that what you run after as the sound of the Good Humor van drops off in the distance? ;)

The CAA and MVFC may beat up on each other in the conference games, which will limit the number of playoff spots for each league. However, I think at least three teams in the MVFC will have 8 wins and three-four in the CAA with 8 wins. Those CAA schedules are just brutal though, even moreso than the MVFC ones.

What about the Big Sky Conference?

Eastern Washington
Montana
Montana State
Weber State
Maybe even Northern Arizona.

Montana is almost always undefeated
Eastern would be undefeated if they could beat or *AVOID* (CAA) Montana
Montana State would be conf champs w/o UM & EWU in the way
Same for NAU & WSU

Sure, and Portland St would be conf champs without UM, MSU, EWU, NAU, WSU etc etc etc. And except for Villanova, UNH, W&M, JMU, UMASS, UD, UR, and Maine, they could meet Towson for the NC.

EWU will be the AQ from the Big Sky only if UM's plane crashes on the way back from a road game.

The MVC AQ will be ISU or SIU - I pick ISU to win the MVC.

I don't see SDSU beating UD on the road, but I love that kind of scheduling by both teams, and I hope that it will be rewarded if one of them is on the bubble.

So you don't think UM's coaching and offensive scheme change will have any affect on their season? Riiiiighht.

1. Montana will repeat as Big Sky Conference Champs, despite the switch of coaches
2. Eastern Washington will lose to both Montana & Montana State
3. Northern Arizona will lose to Montana & Eastern Washington
4. Montana State will lose to Montana, Northern Arizona & Weber State
5. Weber State will lose to Montana, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona & Sacramento St

Montana, Eastern Washington & Northern Arizona will get playoff berths
Montana State, should their overall record be 8-3, will make an at-large invitation

Montana, Eastern Washington & Northern Arizona all win first round games
Montana State loses

Eastern Washington & Northern Arizona lose second round games
Montana advances all the way to the final and win FCS title

I think the only team in the league that saw nothing in Illinois State last year was Youngstown State. They came to Youngstown and lost 30-18 to a bad 4-5 YSU team, in what turned out to be Heacock's final home game. Missouri State impressed us a lot more, not only defensively, but with Cody Kirby at the helm of the offense, beating us 17-7 in Youngstown.

In my eyes:
SIU-SDSU are the two best teams in the league. ILSU, MSU, UNI, YSU are the next best four teams that have the best shot at getting the 3rd spot in the league.

Great predictions, but what makes you think EWU will lose to Montana State? 7 Straight...

btw Anybody know the streak EWU has vs NAU? I dont remember losing to them.

Looks decent but i really dont see UC-Davis taking the GWC crown this year. I am thinking more along the lines of either Cal Poly or SUU. The Mustangs last year barely beat South Dakota (24-23), got whipped in a shootout with my Thunderbirds (56-35) and beat a very beat up Cal Poly team and an inconsistent North Dakota team. In my mind i think the GWC will be more of the same however i feel that the Aggies wont be the team to get the at large berth, however i am happy knowing that at least one of those spots will and should go to a GWC team. :thumb:

Didn't you play when we last lost to them? I thought it was 2006 when we went 3-8?

Okay, just double checked. We did lose to them in 2006, so we have 3 straight right now. We won in 2005 and 2004 as well, and lost in 2003. So every 3 or so years they pull one over on us.

EWU and the Kitties will likely NOT make the playoffs. I foresee a Montana-Sac State semifinal in which Sac FINALLY gets the Grizzly off its back for a chance to face Big South autobid Liberty in Frisco.

I also doubt App will fail to get their autobid.
