There has been some spirited posting on CAAZone relative to the upcoming ODU/W&M game. I thought I would open this thread----anyone want to start any smack on the topic??????

You need to open with a full broadside - not invite the enemy over for tea.

Could make for an good rivalry. Norfolk is a shithole and I'm not sure there is a more boring town in the country than Williamsburg, VA. An interesting dynamic.

Been following those threads for a while. In the grand scheme of things, they're not all that heated. ODU had a promising first season, W&M should kick butt this fall, ODU is going to get better...with a little smackiness and "out there" predictions thrown in. Nothing like the ODU/VCU/GMU stuff you see during BBall season.

You may want to save that venom for when you can use it appropriately. You obviously are well-versed at the identification of shitholes, so I will defer to your expertise in that area.

This season will be memorable for us when we shock those self-absorbed, politically-correct, and cross-dressing homecoming queen ivy-league wannabes from waste management. In their most successful basketball season in history, we pinned 3 big L's on them. One of the very few opportunities more rewarding will be when we break the hearts of thousands of dentally-challenged fans in a playoff game vs Redneck U, and that will be by 2014.

Nomad, I thought you WM guys were supposed to be pretty bright. THe reference is to the individual to whom I was replying, which happened to be an Appy State fan.

And really looking forward to our game this year. Seriously, expectations among most of us are realistic, but nice to have a measuring stick game to see where we really are.

Thanks---that is what I thought. I think most folks know ODU will continue to improve, and look to have a lot of support in the area. The CAA is a bitch, and those games week in and week out will be an eye opener......

This one has the makings of a great rivalry. ODU had a promising first year, but can't buy their way out of trouble this year. That being said they will get better and be a great rival in a couple of years.

They haven't faced CAA competition, so they are pretty cocky. Reminds me of the posts by Weber State fans before the playoffs began last year.

This isn't basketball season. I attended the ODU-W&M basketball game in the 'burg last year and ODU was fortunate to emerge with a victory. Don't expect brain freeze by Laycocke and company as happened in that game.

All in all, this year will be an eye opener for the Norfolk Division at the hands of the mother ship (see above).
