Here are my top 20 names. There were 3-4 other names that I almost included. Who from your team would you recommend should be considered as well? This is a light year on DEs so I am sure someone will have a breakout year and become a favorite for the award.

Thanks for starting this - was on my "to-do" list...
I would say NAU's Matt Estrada deserves some consideration

Drenard Williams, Texas State, Sr.
Medical Redshirt last season. Played 2 seasons at Iowa St before transferring in. Has played DB/CB but I don't know where they'll put him this year...possibly replacing Travis Houston at Bandit. (Also does KOR) He was awesome in 2008 and we really missed having him last year.
LB - Marcus Clark, Texas State, Sr
I'm pretty sure he's ILB, but not sure which side
He's quietly made a name for himself the past 3 years. Has played all 3 years and as a true freshman he got to play alongside his older brother - Nick

Tommy Connors, SS, 6-1, 215, R-Sr, Southeastern Louisiana
He was on the pre-season list last year but broke his thumb in third game of season at Ole Miss...got a medical hardship and will be back in 2010...should have a monster year in our defense which will be very good overall.

Jason House, Southern, 1st year playing Safety recorded 10 picks. With a new defensive scheme and more experience he could be a big time ball hawk this season.

With fellow LB Zach Johnson coming back, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sherritt's numbers drop and DT Renard Williams sneak onto the list instead. Outside of TJ, he's our best NFL prospect.
As a sophmore (6-2, 300) 16 of his 35 tackles were TFL, with 9 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 5 QB hurries.

Any list must have B.W. Webb, astonishingly just a rising sophomore, William & Mary's already great defensive back who had one of the great true freshman seasons last year. Eight interceptions, All-CAA, twice CAA Player of the Week, the only 1AA defensive player ever to be named the 1A Defensive Player of the Week (for his game in the W&M win over UVA where B.W. had three interceptions, one for the game clinching TD, in his first collegiate game).

Sac State:
DT Christian Clark (10 sacks (led the BSC), 44 tackles, 15.5 TFL last season)
SS Zach Schrader (103 tackles, 4 INT’s last season)
Both players are seniors.

My thoughts exactly, but I would also throw Matt Johnson into the mix. Any one of those 4 could make some serious noise this year.

Yeah, but unfortunately we only play PSU once this year.
