Looks like things are really coming together for SUU and i think we really will be one of if not the top team in the Great West Conference this year. We are returning easily the best WR core in the league if not the whole west and have a stable of reliable and good running backs especially in Austin Minefee. Cant wait for the Red vs White game on the 24th. :thumb:

Sounds like y'all have what it takes to have a good team this year. I'll be interested to see what comes out of your spring game and get an idea of what we may see in San Marcos.

Great West probably, but not in the West.

I'm real excited to see EWU's receiving corps this year... not only do we have Nick Edwards (6'3) and Brandon Kaufman (6'5) with half a season starting under their belts after Boyce went down last year, but word is Bo Levi Mitchell's (SMU transfer QB) brother Corey is coming real soon too, and will be walking on as a WR. He's 6'7 and 220. I hope he's got some good hands. :D

Oh yeah. BLM looked real good in our first scrimmage yesterday: Mitchell masterful in EWU scrimmage, and looks like he'll be the leading candidate to replace Nichols.
Mitchell looked both poised and comfortable operating the No. 1 offensive unit and continued to gush about having Brandon Kaufman, a 6-foot-5, 205-pounder, and Nicholas Edwards, a 6-3, 200-pounder as targets at the wide receiver positions.

“It’s nice to have Nic and Brandon out there,” said Mitchell, who connected with Edwards on a 29-yard touchdown pass. “They’re so big, you can just kind of toss the ball up there and let them go get it.

“They might not be 4.3 (40 meter) guys, but they both have big strides and can really eat up ground.”

Tysson Poots is one of the top WR in the west. He has TE in size with WR speed and very good hands.

I think that SUU will be a very tough team in 2010. They get Cal Poly at a great time. Cal Poly will have played four straight road games (Texas State, McNeese State, Fresno State and Old Dominion) before traveling to SUU which is always a tough trip.

The biggest thing we need to work on this year is our defense. Last year our offense would do very well but our defense really was pourous at times. Its a good thing that the majority of our returning starters on defense as this will give us a better chance to compete this year. Also in regards to our WR core not only do we get Poots back (6'3, 205 lbs) we return Fesi Sitake (5'10, 180) who was our stud WR while Poots was injured and also Mitch Jessop and Jared Usura who are very reliable and fast WR's.

Im more impressed with our running backs this year so i wont be surprised if we see SUU run the ball more often then not behind Austin Minifee and Major Gray. Cant wait for April 24th! :thumb:
