if this has been posted before, I apologize. I don't post on here that often. But still 5 consecutive road games is tough.

What is sad about Cal Poly's schedule is the nearest conference is the Big Sky and all we can get to play us from that conference is Montana. Idaho State bought out a game with the Mustangs two years is a row. Good news is I hear from the Eastern Washington fans that they are the schedule in 2011 and 2012. I hear we might also get Portland State on the schedule now that Glanville is gone. We played Weber State last year and I hope to see them on some future schedules.

No I'll let a davis poster use a horse beating icon with a "CP" on it.

That is right, because you would have to use the one with Cal Poly person beating the cr@p out of a Sac State horse seeing that we have took you behind the woodshed the last 5 or 6 times we have played. No wonder Sac State ducks Cal Poly. Now that Sac State has the UFL team playing on their field their fans might actually get to see some good football at Hornet Stadium.

Let's just say that if Sac State had won the 6 games against the Mustangs there would be a better chance that they would be willing to schedule us.

Maybe and maybe not. As I stated before, for whatever reason Sac State's AD Wanless doesn't want to regularly schedule CP. Feel free to send him an email and ask him why, he has been the AD for 7/8 years now so this is nothing new. Last years game probably wouldn't even have been schedule if we didn't receive a 100k payout for the game. What I do know is if CP was scheduled every year, 10 of the 11 games would be set every year. As a fan and speaking for only myself here, I could say I would definitely not like the lack of variation in the schedule.

What kind of issues did Glanville have?

Fair enough and I can understand that. What I do not understand is this year the team that replaced Cal Poly was DII Western Oregon. I know that Cal Poly would have traveled to Sac State this year and as a fan I would of rathered had a FCS team at home than a DII team that does not help with trying to make the playoffs. Cal Poly would also have put a lot more fans in the stands than Western Oregon. If they did not want to see Cal Poly every year Cal Poly would even be open to playing every once in a while and Wanless is not even open to this.

I know I beat this topic into the ground, but I really liked it when we played Sac State on a regular basis. It was a in state FCS trip that I traveled to see every other year. I have family in Lodi and every year we would all go to either Sac State or UC Davis game up there. Now we only go to Davis every other year. I'll try to stop beating this obviously dead horse.

Best of luck to Sac State this year.

I feel the same way about playing an instate FCS school. I wish Weber and SUU would start playing each other again get a real rivalry going. last time SUU came to Ogden there was a pretty good crowd of red there, Bring back the Weber/SUU rivalry.

Until Slostang pointed it out, I didn't realize that Sac St. had replaced Cal Poly with Western OR, for a home game no less! So, Is that really the kind of variation you would like to see and why do you think the AD did that?

Slostang either misunderstands the schedule or is purposely trying to mislead people. A Sac State/ Poly game was never scheduled this season so Poly was not replaced by Western Oregon. Sac State is playing at Stanford on Sept 4th while Poly hosts Humboldt St. The following week, Sept 11 when Sac State hosts Western Oregon, Poly hosts Montana. The following week Sac State starts the 8 game BSC schedule and ends the season playing at davis. Bottom line Poly was not replaced by Western Oregon. I am certain that Sac State would not turn away a big check and a opportunity to play Stanford to host Poly and I doubt that Poly would like to miss the opportunity to host Montana ( which was scheduled long before Sac scheduled Western Oregon) to travel to Sac. Lets get our facts straight.

I was not trying to mislead people. I should have said Sac State scheduled WOU instead of a willing Cal Poly. I should not have used the term replaced. I did not look closely at both schedules. Sac State did not replace Cal Poly with a DII team and you did a good job of showing a game with Cal Poly would not work out this season. The sad thing is that Wanless does not want it to work any season.

Hey Slo, maybe when Montana move to FBS there will be a reshuffle of the western FCS conferences and CP and Sac State get grouped together... that is assuming CP administration would man up and be willing to part ways with the Big West and join an all-sports conference. :)

You never know. Something will change in the next three or four years.
