Which was more awesome the day it happened and quickly became almost intolerable in the days after it happened?

I'll admit it was us - we had a hell of a lot of hubris going on with a good run of championships and the UM win was icing on the cake. To our credit, football wins like that are more rare than an upset by a mid-major over a highly ranked basketball team, but the UNI win was still huge.

I think Australia is better than airplanes.

Really...how have us UNI fans ruined it? Of all the posts about the game UNI fans have posted the least...

I went with App State over Michigan because one football is way better then basketball (my opinion) and second as ASUG mentioned that football upsets like that are way more rare then in basketball. Not at all taking away from UNIs great achievement i give you all the props but that just my opinion

I know you had to look that one up, Colonel but I'm willing to admit we were overbearing. I think I'd rather be considered a douchebag when we're a winning program than a loser douchebag Situations like ASU found themselves in during those years don't happen often, so you gloat while the iron is hot. We'll have down programs someday, then we'll be like the GSU guys talking about the old days.

Would we even be having this argument had NIU been a higher seed like the NIU fans had been bitching about? Seems to me like a top 25 team (again, like the NIU fans bitched about) beating a #1 team is not that unheard of.

Oh, and where is the 'Pee in the Butt' option?

I didn't go to hillbilly u...we learn them big words at UMass, in case one of those high falootin' Haaarvard grads stops by the sit a spell...

I believe App is 0-2 against UM.

your right...same as your record in national championships in recent years...say, the last two years....oh, & there was 2004 as well...

I had to say App State vs Michigan because it is more difficult to get 22 individual performances together as a team effort than it is for 5.

With that being said, I loved every minute of the UNI upset victory of Kansas and am not taking anything away from it just because I feel the App football victory was a greater upset.

I went with App. Much more difficult and a larger disparity of talent when recruiting for football over basketball. FBS get 85 kids, FCS gets 63 while in basketball everyone get 10-12 kids. Much easier to recruit upper level talent when you only get 10-12 guys.

I'm very happy for UNI's recent win over Kansas in basketball! I was probably happier for ASU's win over Michigan in football, mainly because I like football a whole lot better, and I like ASU more that I do UNI.

With that said, if anyone thinks the fan base of either UNI, or ASU overstated their win, and/or use every opportunity to tell you about them...Well, just be thankful that the Griz didn't beat a football team Michigan, in their house!

EVERYONE on CS.com, including a few Griz fans, would have lost their F'n minds should something like this happen! Had the Griz beat a team like the Wolverines, I'm more than sure the amount of posts from the Griz faithful about such an event would make the UNI/ASU responses seem like no big deal.

FWIW, some Griz fans, on occasion, do talk up their team & it's record, stadium, game day atmosphere, and town...just sayin'.

Methinks that some people only read the thread topic and not the actual poll question, at least judging by some of the replies.

Appie. Sorry UNI, but it's much harder for the little guy to bring down a big guy in football than in basketball. I'm sure there have been schools that play bball in FCS conferences that have brought down top 5 teams. In football, it doesn't happen nearly as often.

It would have to be a team further west than Michigan.
