Masoli to transfer?

Right now, anything regarding Jeremiah Masoli's future is purely speculative, but it is becoming clear that if he wants to play next year, he will have to transfer, unless the Oregon Ducks do another Blount later on (which is becoming highly unlikely as the days go by). As in the cases of Ryan Perrlioux and Rhett Bomar, Masoli's best chance to stay in the limelight is to transfer to an FCS institution. He would bring quite a resume to any FCS team (led the Ducks to the Rose Bowl last year, was being touted as a possible Heisman Trophy candidate this year), but also brings the baggage that caused him to be suspended for the year (no jail time but Class A felony burglary pleaded down to Class C felony and sentenced as a misdemeanor, as well as previous brushes with the law while he was in high school). Given his performance on the football field last year, do you think your team would be willing to take him, knowing what it was that caused him to be suspended in the first place? Oregonian columnist, John Canzano, threw out Portland State, Eastern Washington and Northern Arizona as possible destinations if Masoli would want to continue his college career, would your team be willing to take Masoli?
For Portland State, I know we would be willing to take him. He would be on probation and watched like a hawk. But he would be worth the chance. His talent on the field is enough for us.

Hell no.
Even though we need a QB and he'd fit perfectly in our offense. No.

I doubt Montana would offer him a spot, but who knows. He and Pflugrad may have some connection from Pflu's Oregon days, but the Griz also have two capable senior QBs coming back.
I do think it's highly ironic that Roper transferred to Montana to try and get playing time after he lost his starting job to Masoli and now Masoli is (apparently, for next season at least) out as the starter at Oregon and Roper ended up being Selle's backup at Montana.
Jesus, imagine the hype if Masoli went to Eastern and his first home game was also the first game on the red turf.

He would be a perfect fit for Cal Poly's tiple option offense, but I do not think there is a chance that he would be offered a second chance at Cal Poly.

Doesn't Masoli have his redshirt available for this season anyway?

Wait a minute, can he even transfer? Isn't there some NCAA regulation that requires a drop down to have 2 years of eligibility left? Masoli would be a senior next year.

We have 5 QBs on the roster already, 2 we brought in to compete for the starting job. That'd be a slap in the face to either Panelli or BLM if we took in another transfer. We have enough QBs right now...

He has a red shirt to burn. I don't see him transferring and there is a two year rule regarding drop downs.
Neither Portland State or Eastern runs a spread offense. I just don't see a coach at any of the Big Sky schools taking a chance on a kid that stole property and then lied about it for one year of playing time. Most of these schools have done a ton of work recruiting the type of players that they want and will fit their systems.

What's your point? SHSU wouldn't bat an eye at piling on another

Your mom wouldn't either...
My point is that there's very little chance we take another transfer QB.

He's not transferring anywhere; any NFL hopes he has lies in Oregon. One more year on the field will do little to change his grade with scouts. But Oregon is the place he can best rehab is "character grade".

I found it hilarious but you have to understand where McNeese75 was coming from (it was
humor, screamin'). Being in the SLC, I totally got it.
