This rumor has been circluating in the wind and various message boards since Georgia Southern hired Jeff Monken. Now it appears to be finally getting some legs as the Atlanta Journal Constitution has picked up on it.
Shaw was Georgia Tech's backup QB the past two years and had at least one spot start (a victory over Mississippi State in 2008) so getting a QB with experience in the triple option that Monken runs would likely speed the transition process back to the option for GSU. This will also allow Monken to redshirt the three QB's he signed in the 2010 class.
This is potentially a HUGE get for Georgia Southern.
Ive seen this kid play and i have to say this would be a HUGE pickup for Georgia Southern. I have to say im actually excited to see some SOCON football this year as it seems to have quickly become the option conference
Also here are the highlights of Shaw playing against Mississippi State in 2008, enjoy.

That would be a big help to GSU. He wont get much playing time at GTech playing behind a tough stud QB so a transfer might be a good move. Sure would hurt GTech's spring practice as Shaw was going to get a lot of snaps due to QB recovery from surgery.

I was thinking it. Shaw plays like he is scared to take a hit. I think that is one of the reasons he doesn't get much play time. He may work out at this level, but I'm not as optimistic as everyone else is about him.

It's official, Shaw is coming to Georgia Southern...
I can't emphasize how helpful it is to have someone come into this program as a QB with his experience. This will allow GSU to redshirt all of it's incoming freshmen QB's.
