Entering the combine I thought I would take a look at the top 100 prospects. I will update this list 2 more times between now and draft day. Enjoy!

no Don Smith from Bryant ?

Has Terrell Whitehead from Norfolk State really fallen that badly? Not even on the list.

Glad to see Lane up at the top.
A.Edwards should be one of draft days more interesting players to follow.

I saw David Harrison (Elon OL (Guard, I think)) doing some workouts in the weightroom the other day. He might be getting ready for a workout. SCFBF- Have you heard anything about him? He was doing the bench reps of 225 and he got about 30 reps.

I work with his Dad. David has a Pro Day workout sometime in March. Wish him all the luck. He is a great kid and his Dad is a great guy also.

Good list. Good to see James Mallory from CCSU get some well deserved props.

The NEC was blessed with 3 great RB's in the last few years (Sinisi, McCarty and Mallory) and Mallory's talent seemed to get overshadowed by the ridiculous numbers Sinisi and McCarty put up.

But having seen all 3 play in person I can say that Mallory was definitely the most talented of the three. Incredibly explosive runner. I think he'll end up having a pretty good NFL career.

I really think Caldwell, Miles, and Graves are all better than him. He runs very slow. Looks like a 4.70 guy on film but he has yet to run for scouts, has had two chances, which tells me he probably runs 4.75-4.80 range and is scared to post that time. I rejected him.

He is getting looks and has a shot. It will be interesting to see how his pro day goes. I know he was one of the best guards I saw in the FCS all year long.

Batten of So. Dak. St. showed nothing againt Montana. 3 unassisted tackles, and no sacks. Levi Horn and the Griz o-lineman completely handled him. Based only on only that game, it's surprising to see him ranked so high.

Why isn't T. Hudgins, the receiver, ranked higher? Just curious. Very nice kid. Met him in Chattanooga. He was friendly and a good sport to hang out with several of the younger Montana kids who were staying at the hotel. Talked to them multiple times. Played catch with them on day. Introduced them to Armanti Edwards.

When scouting you can't put all your emphasis on just one game. You have to take into account their into senior season, career numbers, size, workout numbers, character, etc. It is very tough to be accurate with just one game. The only thing I will just use one game for sometimes is to see if a player can run, how athletic he looks, his strength, etc. Some players might have a bad game in terms of stats but you can at least see their motor, speed, etc.

Hudgins is very low at this point because of his projected speed. Everyone is expecting something in the 4.70-4.75 range. If he runs 4.69 or better he will move up.

Agreed. Those 3 guys have been great for their teams and the league. IMO - Sinisi was a monster and owned CCSU. McCarty was awsome as well.

But Mallory had one edge, he played Special Teams. Knowing getting an NFL spot is a longshot, this year he blocked 2 punts! He has a lot of tape to show and has good speed and size. He has a great attitude and is working his butt of. He has been working with Thurmon Thomas of the Buffalo Bills. The Buffalo, NY native has signed up with an Albany-based representation and will participate in Univ. of Buffalo's pro-day.

I expect to see Mallory run a 4.55 or better. It would not shock me if he ran in the 4.48-4.53 range. Good player and really good kid. I hope he makes it!

edit: nevermind, I went through the list twice and somehow still missed it

I watched Sinisi in person last year at CCU. He was pretty good, the net says it was not one of his better games... 21 rushes for 84 yards and 1 TD, 1 reception for 22 yards.

For proof that talent means nothing without senior leadership. 5 UNI players on this list.

Prob. one of the worst games he had in his whole career.

Surprised to see Brandyn Harvey on there. Say you were making one for next year (a long way away) where about would Ijalana be?

Not sure of B George's chances, even as a walk-on. He was listed on ESPN's Insider as the #16 QB.

Personally some of that I would think has to do with putting together a gameplan to try to stop one great player in an effort to make the other players on the defense step up. Not saying the Montana line didn't do well against him but to dismiss him for one game isn't quite right IMHO, because teams can put together gameplans to try to take a player out of a game, or at least limit his impact. If you watched him in the TX vs Nation game personally I think you could see his football talent against the best of the best there. But thats just me

Ijalana is a top 150 overall prospect in my mind. I gave him an early 4th-5th round grade. He could easily end up as a top 100 selection with another strong season. He, Christian Anthony, Korey Lindsey, Mark Legree, Pat Devlin, and Kendrick Ellis are among my top FCS prospects heading in to next year.
