NDSU had roughly 9,400 season ticket holders at the beginning of last season, and the result of a shitty 2009 season means that there could be an issue with season ticket renewals this year, so NDSU is instituting a campaign for 10,000 season ticket holders through the summer.

I honestly don't know if it will succeed or not. People are still pissed over last year's terrible showing.

The consecutively bad seasons have cost NDSU a little less than 10% in average attendance from plus 18,000 to plus 16,000. At the same time season ticket sales have shown a steady growth. Its the walkup crowd that is dwindling and they are the casual fans after all. Season ticket holders are the serious fans. If the new team Bohl is building is successful, and I think it is going to be, we will see upwards 15,000 season ticket holders in a few short years. That means new stadium time.

A new stadium would open the Fargodome for it's real purpose.....a mall.



Just needs a Sears or JC Penney on the end...

You do realize that someone could photoshop "Unidome" over "Fargodome" on the sign and 99% of us wouldn't know the difference?

Although the UNI-Dome is round and does not look like a shopping center.

They both look like convention centers to me. But I'm not a fan of domes either so that may skew my view.

The Dakota Dome is actually the Mini UNI-Dome. It is modeled after the UNI-Dome, may have used the same builders (?) but is just scaled down. I don't know when it was done but I know they got the dome design from UNI.

Nice of you to post a 10 year old pic of the DakotaDome. It does have a new permanent roof ya know.

To answer your question, the DakotaDome was built in 1979. It is just a bit smaller than the UNIDome.
