2010 Big Sky predictions.

Ok there is 200 + days until the season starts but it is time to start arguing. I have been looking at all of the recruiting list and coaching changes and I think that the Montana days are over. I got the Sky looking like this.
1 MSU
2 Weber
3 NAU
4 Montana
5 EWU
6 ISU
7 SAC
8 NCU
9 PSU
I was impressed with MSU last year and think that they are going to win the conference but Weber and NAU are going to be a problem. Weber loses 21 seniors so they could have issues. I think that ISU will be the biggest improvement and Montana will be rebuilding.

I honestly don't see ISU being better than 8th. MSU could win the conference but I don't see UM losing much next year. I'd say UM, MSU, EWU, and Weber are the top 4. I would watch out for Sac and NC to show a lot of improvement.

1. Montana
2. Montana State
3. EWU
4. Weber
5. NAU
6. Portland State
7. Sac State
8. Idaho State
9. UNC
I'd guess we maybe drop the EWU, Weber, or both games, and nothing else. Or maybe Weber ends up being a 2-6 type team, you never know. Or maybe MSU will finally get their #$%$ together for more than 1/3 of a game for Cat-Griz

I think that Sac State moves into the top half of the Big Sky in 2010.

Way too early to tell. Let me get through spring ball at least.

I'm playing around with that suggestion, too. Spring ball will hopefully start to clear some questions for all the teams to me at least.

I'd love to see this, but as everyone has said; it's definitely too early for this discussion.

Agreed. My rankings in August were quite different than in January last year.

I can GUARANTEE you sapper's rankings won't look ANYTHING like the final standings.

Good to see you around Jalmond!
Granted there's not a whole lot to go by and it is extremely early, it's still fun to poke at it and check back at a much later date to see how far off we were.
I'm going with:
1. UM
2. EWU
3. MSU
4. SAC
5. WSU
6. NAU
7. UNC
8. PSU
9. ISU

What, pray tell did MSU do to impress you?
This ought to be good....

I think you move WSU above SAC and NAU above SAC and you've got it right.

SAC has been continuing to impress and get better year after year. WSU loses 19 seniors, and NAU has been spinnin' their wheels. I like SAC as the darkhorse and make a push up this year.

I'm still around, lurking from time to time (when did AGS go dark?

). More things happening that are taking up my time (Blazers, Zags, family--not necessarily in that order). Anyway, I'm working more on a range for each team instead of a definite ranking at this time...
EWU (1-3)---Jones showed he is for real. Can he get some help?
ISU (8-9)---Always a lovable loser, but ended last year on a good note. Can they build on it?
UM (1-2)---Griz are expected to win, can Pflugrad keep the winning going?
MSU (2-4)---Early injuries last year gave the youngsters some playing experience, can that help?
NAU (4-6)---Recently a broken record, always a quick start, always a quick fade.
UNC (6-8)---This is the year the Bears should make some noise. Question is will they?
PSU (7-9)---Basically, the third different offense in two years. Will this one work?
Sac (4-7)---Maybe high expectations, can they live up to them?
WSU (2-5)---Higgins is back, but who will be there with him?
I might add I think this year could be the most competitive that the conference has been in years. Teams that have been bad in the past could be pretty good and teams that have been good could be on the short end this year.

About time you admit it!
Your ranges look pretty good... that's about where I have them. The middle is fairly hard to gauge, with WSU, NAU, MSU and SAC all with potential. I wouldn't mind seeing UM falling flat with their new HC (even though he was a part of Bobby's regime).

wsu loses some seroius talent to graduation, career ending injuries, and our best dlineman transferred to hawaii, but...
wsu still has higgins running the show, he was a 2 time payton award candidate. he will be a senior in 2010, look for him to keep his picks lower next season and WSU is a lock for top 3.
No way wsu gonna be 4th or lower. WSU also has new talent coming in, a good class, lots of new hawaiians on roster.
oline and dline will be solid. if wsu has decent receivers and a running game the 'cats will have a shot at the big sky title as much as anyone else. i think our biggest issue is running game, smith graduated with what 6,000 yds rushing? yikes, and bo bolen the backup who made all-american leaves wsu after just playing 2 seasons for religious reasons but will be back on the team after 2 years.
i have no clue what to expect from the backfield in 2010.

Same discussion every year. Every year Montana wins. Even when Montana has a down year they win the BSC. 2010 will not be a down year.
How interesting are the arguments over finishes 6th or 7th?

Why don't you go search for the link to the thread from 2009? And 2008?

WSU is certainly no lock for top 3. But I can't say that I'm surprised. Not looking forward to the "Do you think Weber can beat BC/TT" threads...
