Tebow Smack

Yesterday Yahoo was reporting that Theismann and some Jaguar were badmouthing Tebow. I didn't get to see the articles (just the headlines), but it seems that for that Jag, the gist was that he heard that Jax was going to draft him.

It'd be great for the local angle in terms of getting butts in the seats, at least. And I think he could be successful. But if it were to work, they'll probably have to trade or cut that guy.

Which means nothing when it comes to an NFL career. Most of the so called 'experts' don't think Tebow will be a good NFL QB. It will be interersting to see if Tebow can prove them wrong.

That's the only novel aspect that will interest me. The "so called 'experts'" have sold a lot of players short and christened some to be the next NFL great. Wrong on many accords. Wasn't Leinart supposed to be amazing? These analyst/experts are very knowledgeable in their field... but I always like to think about them as stockbrokers or mutual fund analyst... and then think about the Mutal Fund in Russia that is picked by a monkey.

The so-called "experts" are wrong more often than they'd care to admit. Sports Illustrated once anointed a lineman coming out of college something along the lines of a can't-miss HOFer, and he turned out to be one of the biggest flops in history. I think he played for GB; I'm certain he was a Guns 'N Roses fan; that part of their article sticks out in my head.

Personally, while it's way too early to place Tebow in the Hall, I think he'll have a pretty successful career.

I agree regarding the experts. I think the player you are speaking of is Tony Mandarich. He did play for Green Bay, and he was a flop.

preason polls are dumb and give the people something to talk about on ESPN...

No one can know for sure what college QB is going to be successful in the NFL...not even a 50% success rate in picking QB's...so just pick anyone that has some college playing time.
