VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley today announced the signing of 14 recruits to National Letters of Intent. The 14 newcomers will enroll at Villanova in the fall and be members of the 2010 Wildcat team.

The Wildcats are coming off a season where they went 14-1 and captured the FCS National Championship. Villanova also won the CAA championship, in addition to being named the ECAC Team of the Year.

New Jersey natives accounted for nine of the 14 signings, followed by Pennsylvania and California with two signings and Washington, DC with one.

Of the 14 recruits, seven are defensive performers and seven are offensive players. The seven defensive players include three defensive backs, two linebackers and two defensive linemen. The seven offensive recruits consist of three linemen, two running backs, one wide receiver and one quarterback.

The Wildcats also added a transfer from Hofstra University. Offensive lineman Jordy Paulemon redshirted last year at Hofstra and will have four years of eligibility. Due to Hofstra dropping its football program, he will be eligible to play this season for Villanova. Paulemon, a 6-3, 300 pound tackle, is a native of Brentwood, N.Y.
