ODU ends up at 70. I'll take that for a start up.

Second straight season we're left asking ourselves what could have been? Looking forward to the Big South battle next year with an Auto bid on the line!

WTF
Looks like the computers forgot how that game turned out.
Also, the SoCon finished as the second best conference according to GPI. So much for all that crap we heard all season about the SoCon being weak this year.

The GPI is associated with COLLEGE SPORTING NEWS.
COLLEGE SPORTING NEWS is a separate entity from Any Given Saturday and always has been.

Jelly, you can't be serious. If the BCS has taught us anything, it's that computers always get it right.

Don't get too excited - your play on the field doesn't justify your 70th ranking in the GPI, evidenced by the fact that the two teams you lost to are ranked below you at 73 and 83.
Once again the GPI's computers fail to balance wins versus strength of schedule.

I was basing that more against the other independents than anything else. I know our line play was weak and our defense gave up a boatload of yards each game. As long as we improve to where we are competent in CAA play that is all I expect of our immediate future.

The usual crock.
Statistics are like bikinis, what they reveal is very interesting, what they don't reveal is vital.

Maybe true but I'll take at the interesting parts in hope that someday the vital part will slip out.

Well then using your convuluted logic:
#5 ASU
#18 McNeese State
WTF
Looks like the computers forgot how that game turned out.
Its called looking at the whole season, overall record, SOS, margin of victory in some cases, etc. UR having a slightly better overall record (11-2 vs 11-3), winning a I-A game, probably slightly better SOS, was enough to overcome losing to ASU on the last play.

I would just as soon all polls and rankings go away, at least pre season and in Sept, which is totally retarded, which at least you don't have with the GPI. They're ALL flawed. Heck, the human polls are probably worse. Just take a look at the ORV every week. We don't need no stinkin polls. That's what we have the playoffs for.

On another note, I hope cs does just like last year and doesn't start the 1st poll till after week 4 as opposed to all the retards who do preseason and Sept polls.

Watch out. Sarah Palin and her PC Police will be knocking on your door in 2-3 hours.

That's still the plan as far as I know.
It will definitely hurt the distribution of the poll, but it will certainly be more accurate in doing so. You start with a clean slate after week 4. What you did last year is irrelevant.
