When is the opening?

Albany will play anyone if the open dates work out and the $$$$ is right (no $$ losing games OOC).

I believe McNeese was scheduled to play Southern on September 18 and, though I haven't heard anything official, it appears as though Southern has withdrawn from that game. I would love to see McNeese play Wofford.

Weird, coulda sworn when i looked at the schedule there wasn't one listed. It's there now though.

That being said, Tx State is listed to be free that week?

Aug 28 isnt the first week of the season, Nov 20 is the final week. Chattanooga is almost definitely Woffords Nov 20 opponent, not many other ways it can shake out by whats confirmed already in the SoCon

If Albany plays @Maine on 9/18 as rumored, we won't have an opening this year. With Bryant in the NEC we only get three OOC games and we're confirmed @SF Austin and @Yale. Don't see dropping Maine unless we postpone it to next year and Wofford gives us a home game - and that would put Maine in a bind for this year.

It's a shame UD already posted their schedule, this would be a great game to add, and they could drop WCU.

UD opening at home to Wofford on Labor Day weekend would be a great draw. Could erase the memories of getting Furman'd (Sp??). Both teams looking forward to bounce back years. Both were former playoff contenders. Such a game could set the tone of the season. Woffy opening @ UD would be far more interesting than opening @ Ohio U. (One of the rare cases when an FCS matchup trumps an FBS matchup, and $$$ might be similar). Woffy could find another FBS matchup from the MAC very easy if OU isn't willing to re-schedule. SOCON vs CAA Week 1. How can we make this happen??? :thumb:

I'm still waiting for that Maine game to be official. Maine is notoriously late in announcing their schedule though.

Teams that have either the 18th or 25th of September open, and have room for an OOC game:

Mont St - 18th
NAU - 18th, likely needs a home game though
Cal Poly - 18th and 25th
Savannah St - 18th and 25th

MEAC teams (BCU - both, Hamp - 25th, Howard - both, Morgan St - both) not enough has been released from this conference to really know

NDSU - 18th, likely want a home game
Bryant - both
Duquesne - 25th
Robert Morris - 25th
Sacred Heart - 18th
St. Francis - both
Wagner - 25th
Tenn Tech - 18th
Bucknell - 18th
Fordham - 25th

Pioneer teams (Butler - 18th, Campbell - 18th, Davidson - both, Dayton - both, Drake - both, Jacksonville - both, Marist - 18th, Morehead - both, Valpo - both) like the MEAC, not enough has been released from this conference to really know

McNeese - both (assuming Southern game is off)
Texas St - 18th

SWAC teams - I don't have a clue about. Every team but Alabama St have room for at least one game, at this point. But nothing has been released from the conference at all, so who knows how that'll shake out. If it falls like Travis has it on the schedules page, then that narrows it to UAPB, Southern, TSU.

ALL of Delaware State's dates are always open, even if we have games scheduled that day

Two late releasing schools is not a good combination. :D

Haven't heard anything in particular myself but that's the rumor going around (DSU vs Southern). Personally I think that we should NEVER be in this thing. We don't have the fanbase or the drawing power to warrant a trip there. I'd rather play an FBS opponent or high-caliber local FCS instead.

I don't have anything to add here, just want to give tampajag props for the avatar. I could barely contain myself reading that thread on shaggybevo. I want a shirt that has the diagram of the field with the cone of vision on it.

Rumors abound we are filling those with TAMU-CC and TSU but, our schedule comes out late too, so who knows? It could be anybody right now. I do think, however, they want the 2 openings as home games, which would give us 6 in San Marcos.
