Ok, I need help here. I don't know (ok, I could look it up but I'm in lazy mode) who will helm all (ok, most of) the teams. So, I'll list them and others can help fill it in.(if you know) Copy/paste

Lamar -
MSU -
NSU -
NWS -
SELA -
SFA - Jeremy Moses
Senior - will potentially become all time SLC passing leader
but com/int ratio has to improve
SHSU -
TXST - Tim Hawkins
RS Soph 6'2" 200 lbs
saw limited time in Wildcats in 2009
dual threat but has to prove himself
UCA -

I'll try to help some...

Sam Houston State is between five players at this point. Blake Joseph is gone and now we're going to have some fun. The good thing is - Tyler Copeland and Kyle Webster - have both endured a redshirt season and may be ready for action.

12 Copeland, Tyler QB 6-3 220 Fr. Saratoga, TX (West Hardin)
11 Randolph, Bryan QB 6-3 200 Jr. Simi Valley, CA (Moorpark) (Simi Valley)
15 Sprowls, Greg QB 6-4 208 Jr. Claremont, CA (Chaffey) (Claremont)
Webster, Kyle QB 6-2 205 Fr. Mustang, OK (Mustang)
16 Welch, Jeff QB 5-11 198 So. Cypress (Cy Falls)

Nicholls is undergoing an offensive change and we won't know their quarterback until August. I have got to assume that they are going to try to get a JUCO or another transfer in there, because they'll want someone who has experienced the offense to some degree.

Central Arkansas is probably Nathan Dick's to lose. You would think after last year, that he would be ready to go and take over the starting position. If not, they have some youngsters...

Lamar will most likely go with Andre Bevil, who has been with them from the start. Bevil played at Navarro under Ray Woodard and knows the system. He's a Golden Triangle product, having played at West Orange Stark.

Hope this helps...

True we won't know much with so many QB's having graduated but any info would be welcome

As for TXST, I think Hawkins will step in fairly comfortably. Wright once referred to him as a smaller version of Barrick Nealy. (we'll see) As for backup they, more or less, converted Garcia (our 3rd stringer last year) to a WR for short passes and screens and he fit into it quite nicely, thank you.
I'm looking for/at RS freshman Eric Soza to fill the # 2 spot. He played in last years' THSCA game and impressed.

Tyler Beatty will likely be our starter though will get a strong challenge from B.J. Young...Tyler will be the only returning QB in the league - outside of Jeremy Moses - who has started and won a Southland Conference football game (went 23-35, 297 yards, 3 TDs in win over UCA)...that's assuming LaQuinton Caston doesn't start in the new offensive scheme at Nicholls State.

Wild card will be Gavin Webster, whom we have committed...still crossing our fingers that he'll follow through and sign, but he has the athletic ability and poise to come in and make an immediate impact.

Here's a highlight video of Tyler Beatty...

Sorry CM,

I do not have a clue who will line up behind center for the Cowboys next year. There will be one Jr, two Sophs, one RS Frosh plus a true freshman coming into August Camp. For the most part, none of the returning QB's took snaps in a game last year. I assume we will know more about those returning from last year's squad when spring practice kicks off. I directed other McNeese fans here from Geauxcowboy so one of them may have more input.

What about Fourroux II?

He is just as big a ? as the rest of them. There is a redshirt coming in this year (Cody Stroud) that attended the Manning QB Camp several years and appears to have a good head and a nice arm. He put on 20 lbs last year and ran the scout team so rumour is there may be some upside to him.

What little I saw of Cody during practices, he looks to have very good mechanics. As far as Zack Fourroux, the type of intestinal infection he had at the beginning of fall workouts last season, is one that really zaps you and is very hard to get rid of. So he had a big set back in his developement. I talked to Manny Busch, who redshirted at TE last year, and asked him about Qb's. He said Stroud and Fourroux are throwing well. Zack O'Quin is still suffering shoulder problems. Second hand info, I know, but that is what heard. Spring workouts will interesting when it comes to the Qb position.
