Why doesn't he just wait a couple years, when the Bison become a MAC power?

Because they'll be in the Big Ten by then and Samuel just wasn't ready for that.

There was a thread awhile back by a NDSU poster advocating that NDSU was a perfect fit for the MAC

YSU will be in the MAC before NDSU ever is considered. The MAC would be staunchly against adding a team from North Dakota!

He or she shouldn't be allowed to post on any football message board again.

That would mean that 9/10ths of Bisonville and the other Bison message board would need to be banned as well...not just that one buy.

What was the user's name? I'm pretty sure I already know who it is. Some Bison fans need a HUGE dose of reality.

It was me. I may not have mentioned it if I had known this board was populated by a bunch of ludites.

The MAC is a good fit but the WAC could realign too. I suggest the MAC because there seems to be a spot there. I have also noticed our sports dont match up that well. NDSU needs a league with strong softball and vollyball. Its not all about football and basketball. Thats the problem some of the schools have. Its bad enough to suck at football and basketball but to find yourself a joke in all the other sports doesnt help. NDSU on the other hand has a well rounded, competitive program in both mens and womens sports and appears to be fully adjusted to Division 1. Heck, our wrestling team just beat #4 Boise State.

I think FBS football is in the cards for NDSU. We need to get all of our sports in one conference. Wrestling would be the exception to that rule. Fargo cant have professional sports but the FBS means a new football stadium and will bring Fargo as close as it can get to a professional sports team. That stadium will be large enough to enable the BISON to get the Gophers, Badgers, Iowa, Iowa State, the Kansas schools, Wyoming etc into town. Those kinds of games would be huge money makers for Fargo and NDSU. Ultimately those potential profits will be the driver. As soon as the opportunity presents itself NDSU will move football to the FBS.

Until such time the FCS is just fine. I just dont see it as the final stop for NDSU Football. The program is destined for more.

Been to as many playoffs, and actually done something worth noting.

NDSU has 9 wins since they have become a full FCS member (in my eyes)
UNC has 4 wins during that time

You may have more wins, but you have the same amount of playoff wins and national recognition at this point

You also had the same record this past season.

Fair enough.

Anything "accomplished" during the transition years don't count?

In my eyes...no.

You weren't eligible for anything, didn't get anything, andwell...in my eyes no. But that is just me.

Good question - I'd lean more towards "NO" because the beauty of FCS is the playoffs.

However, the wins that NDSU had, especially over Minnesota, are accomplishments that transcend the transition.

Honest question - as a NDSU fan, how much did it bother you that your move-up partner made the playoffs before NDSU did?

Happy for SDSU.

Disappointed in our results since NDSU has been playoff eligible.

I am also very proud of what NDSU "didn't accomplish" while they were in transition. In my opinion there are many teams in FCS that would be proud of "not accomplishing" the same things over the same time period.

As far as national recognition, I think there were many FCS fans across the country that noticed what NDSU was "not accomplishing" during the transition.

I realize this is not what Clenz meant by national recognition, but I don't know if winning the FCS National Championship even brings much national recognition. Just my opinion.

Your eyes my snowblind friend, how can you see beyond the continous blizzard that rolls accross the plains of Iowa. :kisswink:
