Chip West hired and accepts job position at UVA.
Since March 2007, West has been the assistant head coach, recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach at Old Dominion.

......

West, a 39-year-old Hampton native, played at Kecoughtan under former coach Curt Newsome, who is now the offensive line coach at Virginia Tech. It's unclear what West's role will be at U.Va. under coach Mike London,

......

In addition to his experience at ODU, West also coached defensive backs from '04-07 at James Madison, and '03-04 at Fordham. He also was the wide receivers coach from 1999-2003 at Colgate and was a graduate assistant from 1997-99 at West Virginia.

I remember how this was supposed to cost us every single 757 recruit from now til forever. Unfortunately it seems to now apply to ODU, as well :coffee:

Coach West did a great service helping ODU get off the ground and earned this new position. You've got to admit, with the hires of Coaches London and West, U Va is laying the foundation for building a very credible FCS program there in Charlottesville.

Good. I hope this sets back ODU for a good 4 years now.
