HAMDEN, Conn. -- A majority of college football fans want to scrap the current Bowl Championship Series and replace it with a playoff system that's similar to college basketball, according to a new national poll released Tuesday.

The Quinnipiac University survey shows 63 percent favor getting rid of the current system, while 26 percent want to keep it. When asked how much they liked the bowl game process, the poll showed fans are mixed.

Sure, they mention the playoff system in college basketball, but completely disregard the playoff system already in place at the college football level: FCS. Fucks.

Me and the wife went out for drinks around 6 last night and it was halftime at some meaningless bowl (UCLA/Temple). I guess with 35+ of these things they have to start them at 4PM Tuesday... :ohno:

Makes you wonder--to FCS fans and alumni, are DIV II and III invisable? Gotta feel for those folks.

For me, no, I really respect them and what they stand for. Always make a point to watch their national championship games. This years DII national championship game was about as good a football game as you could want to watch.

Agreed. I always try to watch the Div II and III playoffs. It's good football, and enjoyable to watch schools that you don't often see. Guess that's why there are so many bowl games. I think the most interesting bowl game would be between the two worst teams. I would love to watch Western Kentucky and Eastern Michigan in the Scrubbin' Bubbles Toilet Bowl.

My theory: people like us watch D II and III playoffs because we love the game of football as much as or more than we love our own programs. FBS fans who dismiss everything "below" their programs' level of competition are in it for something other than love of the game itself.

Yes! FCS fans are too busy getting penile implants to try and measure up to big d1ck that is FBS football to notice Div II. The few that support div II are true fans.

BCS rules!

I love that the fact that 2 teams are randmonly selected to compete for the national title.

i think the NFL will follow suit soon. just think when the steelers won the superbowl as a wild card they could have played in the chunky soup bowl instead, or the wildcard redsox not getting to the world series in 2004 after being down 3-0 to the yankees and then winning 4 in a row and then sweeping the cardinals. they could hve had the opporutnity to compete in the skoal bandit series.

bcs makes for better competition more to work hard for. after all if they changed to the playoffs college football would make no money. i wonder if hte nfl or nba will stop having playoffs because it doenst make money...

At Montana, we get a good look at DII every year, but we prefer the 3-8 DII teams.
