....and the Vegas housing market is among the worst in the country, so he'll likely have the Taj Hauck very soon.danefan wrote:Good move for Hauck, IMO.
Montana is great, but $700k a year is nicer.
Well we went 39-6 with 2 NC appearances in the three seasons leading up to his regime, so it certainly isn't "due to him", but he certainly kept us on top.bandl wrote:How does everyone think he'll do there (with the football team, not financially)?
Was Montana successful during his reign due to the excellence of the program (as in, any somewhat decent coach should be able take the position and keep Montana on top without losing a step), or because he was a great coach?
I don't think there is really anyone that could turn UNLV into a top FBS team. The location is not really great to "raise" a team from the ground up.bandl wrote:How does everyone think he'll do there (with the football team, not financially)?

So..........you're saying both? As long as UM doesn't go after Rob Ash for the job, just about any idiot with an iota of football knowledge could do well there...Silenoz wrote:Well we went 39-6 with 2 NC appearances in the three seasons leading up to his regime, so it certainly isn't "due to him", but he certainly kept us on top.bandl wrote:How does everyone think he'll do there (with the football team, not financially)?

When Don Read built the program up the keys have been turned over to three coaches since the Hot Rod was built. Some have done better in the playoffs than others but all have gotten us in there and kept us near the top. It would take a good coach to keep us near the top but a mediocre coach could wreck the car.bandl wrote:So..........you're saying both? I thought we needed someone good with the media that could actually sell this team to the community and put some butts in the seats? Instead we got someone that makes Mike Sanford look like a late night TV host. Epic Fail.
Oh well, you're officially 0-1 on your "where will Hauck be next season" predictions.GOKATS wrote:This one is great............AZGrizFan wrote:http://www.lvrj.com/news/breaking_news/ ... omments=15

I'm sure you're glad he's gone, the kitties might have a glimmer of hope of keeping it close next year...maybe.GOKATS wrote:Yea, and it really pisses me off. Booby was such an easy asshole to hate.................Grizalltheway wrote:

My guess is Franchione wasn't interested in working for the money offered by UNLV.
There is no doubt. Hauck will be named tomorrow at a press conference.SuperHornet wrote:As of ten minutes ago, Hauck is still HC at Montana, according to MontanaGrizzlies.com. UNLVRebels.com merely states that the new man will be introduced TOMORROW at a press conference; it did not say who.
