Not even an honorable mention for the player that finished 9th in the Payton voting?

Oops that was a complete slight by me. I put him in the list. He should have been second team. It is correct now.

Steve Valentino if he returns for his fifth year. All PFL in 2008 as a WR and KR then PFL offensive player of the year as a QB. This is one special athlete, maybe even more so than Armanti. If Tino returns, the biggest question is will he be a QB or a WR or a KR or maybe even a DB.

Sr. DT Mike Stover W&M

Anyone who watched him play against Villanova two weeks ago witnessed an exceptional performance facing an exceptional offensive line. 11 tackles...3 TFL and a sack. 6'4" 270 who came to W&M as a 6'3" 235 high school running back and DE/LB. Was a preferred walk-on who played as a true freshman.

I'll stay with Karrington Bush (If he is able to play) He was pre-season AA last year. I would, therefore, assume he should be again. After all, he is still up there in APR having missed most of 2008. Don't discount him if he returns.

I was very impressed with him.

I would think that Stover, Martin Parker of UR, Ronnell Brown of JMU, and Victor Adesanya of RI as the top names in the CAA for next year. Parker is the only one known nationally so it should be interesting to see who develops from the CAA as the postseason all-americans. Towson DE Brady Smith is another one to watch. He is a BC transfer that had a decent season this year.

I left him off because I was not sure on his injury status.

None of us really knows. Last we heard he was supposed to be able to start getting in shape April/May. That would be 6+ months after surgery. It's a wait and see right now. I kinda lost my connection to getting that inside info :(

I have not seen ODU play yet so I didn't want to put anyone on the first or second team until I know truly how good they are. I always like to see the directional punting skills, leg strength, consistency, and hang time on punters. Will ODU be on TV in 2010?

Like your choice of Dan Ogden DT at Montana State. The kid has super quick feet and seems to spend a lot of time in the backfield. Another player for MSU who could be All-American is OT Mike Person 6-5 295, 1st team all conference this year as a junior. If the Cats starting MLB, Clay Bignell rully recovers from this back infection could be another candidate.

Canyoncat,

I saw Mike Person this year and was a little surprised that he was first team all-big sky. I figured he would have been second team. Next year will be a very good year for tackles and I don't see him cracking a first, second, or third team with Ijalana, Culbreath, Tos, and Rackley coming back (all of whom are NFL prospects). Add in Pickard of SIU who is going to be a big time name one day, Sherman at JMU, Harr at UTC, Bishop at Wofford, Winnewisser at Cal Poly, etc. and he is in a loaded group next year. I could see him around 7-10 among tackles at this point although you know the Big Sky is known for OL and so I could see some preseason mags picking Person because he got first team all-big sky even though I think the four I mentioned are above and beyond the best in the nation by far.

Bignell is a guy I held off on because I don't know his injury situation. He certainly impressed me earlier in the year before the injury. I could see second team AA in the postseason for sure.

Turcotte's an excellent player, but he was not CAA ROY in 2008. Jonathan Grimes was offensive ROY, and Pat Williams and Brian McNally were co-ROY on defense.

Matt and Zach Johnson will make some serious noise for EWU next year as well... how much noise exactly, I'm not sure.

My mistake........Turcotte was a CAA 1st Teamer and All-American 2nd Teamer at FB in 2008.
