Just look at how they got manhandled by the Big Sky. As a matter of fact, SIU and UNH don't belong either.

You mean Montana. They beat EWU pretty easily.

Of course I meant Montana. This is just backhanded smack at those CAA honks who claim that the ENTIRE Sky (and by extension anyone west of the Mississippi River) sucks.

No...Weber didn't belong.

Hogwash. They had a bad day, and that's exactly the excuse UNH and SIU is going to use, too. Weber got more points on Montana than SFA did (a whole lot more). And Liberty would have gotten more than a FG, too. It's time for CAA to shut up.

Is it just more or does none of this make sense?

Holy shit.

Bingo...
I was just telling Appaholic on the phone that ANY of the three remaining CAA team could likely be the National Champion - were they not forced to play each other

What a Maroon. De facto you just claimed EWU didn't belong. I know you're not a chick, but damn... are you PMSin'?

Montana comes from a weak conference that provides no challenge and doesn't adequately prepare it for the playoffs.

Note to certain posters, turn up your satire detector.

Ancient history...

But if you want to go back that far, the team that beat you the next week was from what conference???

When was the last time a BSC team (other than Montana) beat a CAA team???

A lot is made of UNI losing the last two years with seeds, but all 5 playoff games UNI was in during the 2007 and 2008 years were against CAA teams (UNH twice, UD, Richmond, and Maine). That's a hell of a playoff gauntlet right there.

Yeah, we know, a team other than Montana needs to make a semi final in order for that to likeley happen.

We're playing a lot better right now then we were last playoffs at this point, and we managed to beat the #1 seed in the tournament on the road then. The way this team is playing, I think it can beat any of the 3 remaining teams, including W&M. :thumb:

I'm not gonna knock SDSU because they are a great team...but that was a hellava come back last week... :thumb:

But SFA...please...you're not really gonna judge how good the Griz are against SFA, are you???

They were the #1 scoring team in the country (albeit playing in the Southland), and we managed to shut them out. That only happens when a team is really rolling in all facets of the game, and I don't think that'll change, regardless of who we're playing.

Agreed. However, the (albeit playing in the Southland) is a key point of that top scoring team in the nation thing.

The point, Mort, is that shutting out an offense that is prolific enough to score that many points per game, regardless of what conference the play in, is pretty impressive. But hey, keep on not giving Montana credit for anything they accomplish on the field. :thumb:

I did give you credit...I said I agreed with you. However, being the top scoring team in the nation from the Southland is a bit misleading.

Okay, how about putting 61 on the #1 ranked defense from the MVC? Does that mean it's just as weak as the Southland?

I don't have an answer for that. The MVFC proved this year we weren't as good as we thought we were.

It's true this year. I'm perfectly ok admitting that. I wish I was wrong.
