Poorly written article by our garbage school paper.
Basically we are looking at all options, including FCS, FBS, D-II.

It's poorly written because of who wrote it. Brad thinks he is a UNI superfan, but doesn't know jack shit about UNI sports.

The budget is tight and we are wasting money on a consultant for a report that will sit on a shelf and collect dust. WAFJ.
PS - Michael Gartner is a douchebag and is only one member of the Board of Regents. Until the whole board said this should be done they should've told him to Go F Himself.

Well, the Cats have been a 7-4 team for most of the past five or six years, after being a power for about a decade.

How can they be looking at both FBS and D-II? Seems like if D-II was even remotely possible... FBS would be out of the question and if FBS was possible... moving to D-II would be retarded.

Its all about money. DII would cost way less, and FBS has potential to make more money.

But if I understand NCAA edits correctly, the move your football to DII you have to lower your basketball program also...is the school willing to do that???

That is correct - all or nothing to DII. Which would be stupid, given that UNI has a good BB team...

There is no intention of moving to D-II. They're just covering all situations so they can tell the Regents to fuck off.

It's easy to pay for things when your stadium looks like a mall. Black Friday must've been huge for you guys.

Those surrounding D2's are gonna be excited! That dome will be like 'The Big House' to those D2 guys.

DII doesn't save any money vs. lower scholarship FCS, unless the thinking is to cut other sports.

Well maybe UNI football can be saved by getting a few pipes and turning the UNI dome into a waste water treatment plant during the offseason...
