YSU just raised the bar considerably for FCS coaching salaries.

Really? Towson hired Ambrose for $1.75 / 5years. $350K/ year. However I'm sure it cost more to live in suburban Baltimore than Youngstown, OH.

Yup. That guy's going to have to deal with Beltway traffic to get to the fieldhouse, too. With THAT to contend with, how do the Keiblers hire ANYBODY?

PLENTY of nice places to live in West Towson and North Baltimore where his commute would be under 10 minutes.

Looks like YSU will get a major steal off of Spurrier's staff at South Carolina:

This guy is a fabulous young talent and if you go to the USC forums, they are angered and in denial in the fact he may become a Penguin head coach because he is one of their best assistants.
He was the run game coordinator there. Look for YSU to say bye-bye to the spread and hello to power running again!

Possibly you can get the program back up to where you might be able to beat Southern Utah....

Anyone who would stand in the way of the development/promotion of a young coach is an idiot. They should be happy for him. Besides, if he was DC, it opens the door for one of the position coaches to spread his wings since SOMEONE will have to jump into that spot.

When YSU gets a new coach, I'm hoping that with a relatively new head coach at Dayton they can come up with an ongoing home/home series. YSU will be playing Butler in 2010 and Valpo in 2011. It is past time that the only two FCS teams in Ohio play EVERY season. Mike Kelly was not a big fan of playing traditional FCS teams. I hear that Rick Chamberlin is much more open to the possibility. I hope whatever has prevented the home/home series in the past can be overcome by two "new" coaches....

I doubt you would see YSU concede a home game to Dayton. Every other year we may be stuck with 5 home games, which is not good.

Maybe Dayton would consider the same type of arrangement we had with Fordham, two games at Fordham for one game at Dayton....
