How Norm Chad exists in media is beyond me. The guy is a complete goof. I've never seen a guy so blatantly attempt to bite the hand that feeds him.

He is goofy but his point is not that off the mark. Some schools are fortunate enough to generate a lot of dollars for their schools through athletics but most do not.

And that means those programs that don't generate revenue add absolutely nothing to the school?
That's where Chad loses me. Most university athletics programs aren't about making money. The BCS is about making money.
Lumping all schools into the BCS category is where Chad becomes wacky.

Athletics are played for the maketing aspect of the event. It is a recruiting tool and the business card needed to make the school 'better' than other schools.
If it weren't for the Sooner, Cornhusker or Seminole football programs, would anyone give a damn or know about the University of Oklahoma, Nebraska or Florida State? What about Boise and Fresno State? Who?
No.
Because Texas and Florida are tops in the BCS does that make their business, education or psychology program better than other less successful football playing schools?
No.
But the perception to the public is that the Longhorns and Gators are the best.....at everything.
