Don't playoff games count as well?

I'm a little surprised - I thought the last time I looked UM was outpacing ASU this season, but I guess not. I expect our average to come down this weekend with the kids out of school and our game being televised (and the weather should be cold - maybe snowing). I'll be there loaded with mini bottles to keep the chill off.

Thanks for the link BF. Looks like Sac State led the California FCS schools in average attendance this year. We narrowly edged out cal poly and ucd.

Standing room only can't be officially counted

You could say the exact same thing about the playoff game in Missoula this weekend. The first round game is always the lowest attendance of the season.

still dumb.
doesn't the stadium have like a hillside or something, where a large number of people always sit/stand/whatever that is considered part of SRO?
Not criticizing App State, just the way that these things are figured in general.

Here's a panoramic shot stolen from vegattk on MMB showing the packed hill... which is the main reason our attendance is usually so much more than our capacity:
Link to larger one... message board resizes it:

you could say the same for ODU, many of you on these boards have seen pictures of ODU's Foreman Field and the capability of spectators being able to watch games from the parking garage thats seen through an opening between one of the sideline stands and our endzone facility, every game this season there have been tons of fans watching from the garage. So therefore, attendance could be considered over 100%.
Also, might be stating the obvious but with the Yale Bowl being so big its no surprise they are up there in attendance. They should be every year.

What's up AppGuy...good to see you posting again, it's been quite a while.
Question about the standing room area...how is that regulated? There aren't any tickets sold for that section? Is there a turnstile to count the people as they come in? Or are you allowed to come and go as you please out of that section?

A general admission ticket is sold for that area (though anyone can sit there). It is an area inside of the stadium, so admission is through a normal gate to the stadium.

And the ticket the grass hill costs the same as a seat in the stadium.

Congrats App State

Southern's attendance sucked big time this year.

Congrats to App St, I like the hill for standing room GA and we know App St fans are use to standing on hills...one leg is shorter than the other.

sorry that just seem funny.
Yale with that Big Bowl only needs a couple of good rival games to get a nice pop.

Good numbers for NC A&T as well. I wonder how many tickets we could sell in Charlotte if App and A&T set up a game there.

I guess we should put a turnstile and sell tickets to Mt. Sentinal above Wash./Griz Stadium in Missoula.
