What will it be?

1. Montana only
2. Montana and EWU
3. Montana and Weber
4. Montana, EWU, and Weber

Three Big Sky teams will be in. Without question.

Thanks to losses in other parts of the country, the committee has no excuses not to select both EWU and Weber to participate in the post season.

See Portland State, circa 2006. Is this year's scenario that much different?

The only way I see it not happening is if the committee tries to avoid controversy and ends up creating controversy. If they leave EWU out because of the ban that was reversed and thus avoid creating precedence for teams in similar circumstances in the future (start the year with a ban on postseason, should you be eligible if the NCAA releases the ban during the year?). EWU is playing good ball and did play their way in. The committee needs to see this, but the question is, will they?

Why in the world would the NCAA officially reverse a ban and then turn around and enforce a de facto ban?

We'll see. EWU deserves to be in there. The committee is a funny bunch, though. I think, if we hear Liberty tomorrow, we'll know someone in the Big Sky got screwed again.

Oh lord - the interwebs would implode. EWU absolutely deserves to be in.

Montana, EWU and Weber St. all deserve to be in when compared to the rest of the eligible field.

I would go apeshit if they allowed Liberty in over an 8-3 EWU.

But they wont, so it's all good. :D

I'm pretty sure you would not have seen Liberty even if they had won today and I agree with DF that there would be no reason to leave EWU out after just lifting the ban. That would make the NCAA look real bad for no reason at all.

It would have come down to EWU, Weber St. and Liberty for the last 2 spots. I think you might have seen Liberty and EWU in. Could have gone either way though.

As the auto-bid, the Griz are a lock. I think that the Fassels are solid as well. That leaves EWU since the Kitties lost. I think that with all the losing that went on today, there's a VERY good chance that Liberty's nine wins will nab them a spot alongside the Eagles.

Except Liberty only has 8 wins…

Apples and Oranges. The two issues are not connected.

...but I think EWU gets in! :thumb:

Dude, you should really start living in the same world as the rest of us...

EWU and Weber are in.

UNI's best win is against two 6-5 YSU or 6-5 MSU. They will have the same number of DI wins but one more loss and probably a lower GPI than EWU. They will have an identical record with Weber but Weber will have the more quality win against Eastern, no St. Francis, PA and an extra FBS loss on the schedule.

As for the other two teams, at least Liberty played WVU and JMU. But the rest of their schedule pales in comparison to the EWU, Weber, and UNI.

Note to Colgate and other Patriot League teams - schedule somebody OOC if you want an at large.

Uh, Kalm, do you really know whether or not Colgate et al are the duckers or the duckees? As we all know from watching the frustrations of Boise, sometimes SOS isn't as easy as it sounds....

See Portland State, circa 2006. Is this year's scenario that much different?
2006 also saw a decent year in other conferences. You had a solid SoCon vying for spots (Wofford, Furman) that isn't an issue this year. With what transpired yesterday, a legitimate tournament field has to include 3 BSC teams IMO. :twocents:

GPI, final rankings, history, all suggest they are duckees.

Strength of conference is also a clincher with likely six top 30 teams and 4 top 20 teams in the final GPI and Sagarin conference rankings:

UM 12-0
EWU 8-3
Weber 7-4
MSU 7-4
NAU 5-6
Sac 5-6

The reasons you would take a Weber State over the PL teams and Liberty are exactly the same that you would take EWU. If you select one don't you have to select the other?
